I am a free lance writer and photographer seeking to re-enter the main work force I offer years of practical experience including driving of box trucks, vans, delivering products and working in warehouses including shipping and receiving

Also, I have excellent communication skills having worked in the news media for over 25 years which has developed my ability to be a great interviewer and listene

My attendance and driving records are perfect with no tickets in over 40 years

I seek a full time position where I can work on my own with little or no supervision which allows me to make decisions on the go whenever things do not go as planned.

2011-2019

Was the sole full time care giver for my parents both of whom were in their 90’s. I handled all aspects of care from bathing, feeding, arranging their daily routines and making sure they took their medicines. Drove to doctor’s visit, managed their money and was a constant companion.

Dad died first in 2015 and mom in 2019. She was 99 when she passed just missing the century mark by four days. I still miss both of them

2008-2011

Was in charge of shipping materials from the General Motors stamping plant on the near west side of Indianapolis to various GM assembly

parts both rail and truck. Had to direct other employees to load material and to find out if there was a delay in parts being ready to ship why the delay and for how long it might be. Had a very good and empathetic relationship with the truck drivers. Left when plant closed.

2005-2008

JC Penny sorting facility in Plainfield. Worked my way up from clothing sorter to assistant shipping manager preparing men, women’s and chlldren’s clothing for shipping to JCP stores in eleven states. Left as a result of downsizing.

2004-2005

Mail sorting operation in Indianapolis. The operation is now closed and I do not recall the actual name. However, I was one of many in charge sorting bulk mail to be sent to different USPS mailing sites around the country. Left for a better position at JCP

2002-2004

Driver for Adesa auto auction house in Plainfield. Part of a crew that drove cars to and from Adesa. Cars I drove were delivered in perfect condition on time.

Graduated from Indiana University Bloomington with major in Journalism (BA) and minors in Psychology and Sociology.
