My responsibilities include but not limited to the following:

• Prepare a maintenance strategy for the business unit and be responsible for execution of same.

• Develop and ensure execution of maintenance activity plans.

• Create job orders, schedule, and allocate maintenance work for plant or part of as assigned.

• In tandem with maintenance controller, control scheduled maintenance activities on the lines or utilities.

• Determine and arrange resources such as spares, tools and other materials as may be required for maintenance tasks.

• Recommended maintenance mix and schedule improvements based on status reports of executed maintenance schedules.

• Manage performance of business unit, self, and all other engineering maintenance staff.

• Custodian of all engineering maintenance records including staff related matters.

• Staff development actions including skill gap analysis, tools analysis, training plans etc.

• Budget preparation, implementation, and cost monitoring.

• Be the driver for process and equipment improvements using available improvement tools such as RCM, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizens etc. to improve performance.

• Responsible for standards development, publishing, and compliance (engineering, health, environment, safety, quality, and any other regulations that could affect engineering maintenance operations.

• Responsible for maintenance information systems management including preparation of visual intrusions and other displays as required.

• End of month report preparations including but not limited to the end of week, or month or year management review templates, meeting minutes etc.

• Measures/evaluates equipment efficiencies, downtime and assists in development of maintenance requirements – i.e., RCM implementation – until effective hand over to final user.

• Provide engineering and technical leadership in defining, evaluating and correcting problems with electrical equipment, system and supporting electrical improvements in order to optimized performance.

• Respond to plant emergencies in accordance with the emergency response plan.

• Establish and maintain plant maintenance data record keeping, computerized maintenance management system, including logs, trend logs, perform root cause analysis, and report pertaining to environmental regulations.

• Measure and maintain the reliability and performance of plant electrical and control systems involving such work as inspecting, testing, diagnosing the operating conditions of the various plant components.

• Inspect, repair, install and remove all types of motors, turbine, generators, transformers, switches, control equipment, wiring, electrical signal and communication systems, and storage batteries.

• Forecast inventory and order spare parts to maintain plant reliability.

• Perform preventive maintenance duties on all major equipment and systems, as well as emergency backup systems.

• Maintain complete equipment files, logs, and drawing for all designated equipment. .

Directs the daily operation of 8 42MW gas turbine generators, 4 105MVA, 10.5Kv/330Kv power transformers, 2 2000Kva, 10.5Kv/0.415Kv and 6 500Kva, 10.5Kv/0.415Kv auxiliary power transformers and 2 2000Kva, 3.3Kv/0.415Kv emergency diesel generators. Start- up, excitation, synchronization, loading and unloading and shutdown in safe and economical manner. Systems; speedtronic Mark VI control system and energy metering.

Supervises system operation/monitoring the entire plant processes through the use of distributed control system (DCS)/human machine interface (HMI) systems in the central control room.

Coordinate all central control room/field activities by setting priorities, providing work direction/ counsel and immediate supervision to core crew operation and maintenance technicians, long term contractors and specialist vendors in order to meet team goals and objectives as defined in the business plan and operational excellence principles.

Assist in electrical and instrumentation maintenance works.

(BOT/EPC) contract for Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC)/NIPP Project, where I was involved but not limited to the following:

Daily operation and maintenance of (4 125MW) Gas Turbines (GT) GE Frame 9E Mark VIe Control system, Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG) and (2 125MW) Steam Turbines (ST).

Central Control Room Operation (CCR), Start-up operation and shutdown of power generating systems (GT, HRSG and ST) via Human Machine Interface (HMI) and Distributed Control System (DCS).

Mark VIe turbine control - speed control, automatic generator synchronization, load control and trip troubleshooting and diagnostics.

Field maintenance works ranging from GT combustion inspection, HRSG expansion joint replacement, GT evaporative cooler commissioning, motors, pumps and valves servicing and replacements, flow/temperature/pressure measurement and various associated transducers were maintained and replaced.

Used of P&ID to improve quality of safety analysis, facilitate better planning for maintenance and plant shutdown, and better management of risk based inspection processes.

Preparation of daily plant reports, monitor job tickets and inspect completed jobs, recorded hourly readings of GT parameters e.g frequency, gas pressure, speed etc.
