Shipping and Receiving Lead, 06/2020 - 12/10/2023

Customized Distribution Service - Ontario, CA

• Lead team of 4 dock coordinators for a 24/5 (Monday-Friday) and 12 hour shift (Saturday & Sunday) distribution center.

• Assisted the Customer Service Manager with screening applicants, interviewing, candidate selection, and completing initial training for all dock coordinator new hires. Worked closely with operations management to review KPI performance and provide feedback on ideas for continuous improvement.

Responsible for establishing a training program and documentation of completed training for members of my team. This often required adjustment of personal work schedules to align with shift(s) of new trainees.

• Responsible for ensuring my team follow standard operating procedures as well as communicate changes to SOPs. This responsibility also required the updating of training materials for new hires.

Shipping and Receiving Coordinator, 12/2005 - 06/2020 Customized Distribution Service – Ontario, CA

Received incoming shipments, compared contents against associated records and transmitted to proper department.

• Audit daily delivery / pick-up schedule and work with operations team members to optimize efficiency of dock flow. Specifically identified areas of opportunity to reduce driver dwell without hindering the performance of the operations team.

Responsible for entry and reconciliation of TIM (trailer inventory management) system on a daily basis. This included a physical yard check to reconcile systemic data. Checked drivers in & out throughout the day, print bills of lading (BOL's), assign seals, print labels and outbound detail staging reports.

Audit operational paperwork looking for accessorial billing information, proper identification and use of shipping platforms, door and trailer information, operator and supervisor signatures. Responsible for reconciling warehouse receipt information to customer EDI data. Upon the identification of errors, I would work with operations team to investigate and correct/report errors to customers.

• Responsible for ensuring that all BOL's upload correctly to company's document management system.

Use specific customers TMS Portals to route, retrieve Shipment IDs, manifest & placards for orders to be processed by OPS team.

• Collaborate with operations personnel to execute an efficient and timely appointment scheduling and order-handling.

• Receive process, enter, and verify customer orders and returns.

• Perform shift handoff so all pertinent operational information was relayed to on-coming dock coordinator.
