SYSTEM TEST CONSULTANT 2010 – 2022

Test Consultant for large Department of Defense financial application DSCA, which services Army, Navy, and Air Force. Performed test planning, execution, and implementation of new Army and new Air Force financial systems. The complete application was tested for the conversion from Forte to Java and again for the conversion of the four instance Oracle 12g database to a single instance. Toad was used for database validation. Recently performed SharePoint testing.

QA TEST COORDINATOR (CONSULTANT) 2009 – 2009

Test Coordinator for large utility data center relocation project for PJM Interconnect in Philadelphia, PA. Responsible for test planning and execution for multiple applications, including middleware testing of new SOA business service process which replace legacy data bridges between applications. The architecture used Sonic middleware and ESB. Mercury Quality Center was used for test case preparation, test execution and defect management. SharePoint was used for project and document management.

IBM TEST MANAGER 2008

Test Manager for large public sector project for the New York City Housing Authority in

New York City. The project customized the Siebel and Maximo applications, as well as,

fifteen different handheld wireless applications. Managed a test staff of seven for manual

system testing, automated functional testing, and performance testing.

IBM QA LEAD 2006 - 2007

Performed as the QA Leader on an engagement for Circuit City retail stores in Richmond,

Virginia. Responsibilities included defect triage and remediation, as well as, planning and

managing test execution with a staff of eight, the production of test deliverables, the

coordination of a five-tiered test environment at the customer site, test data acquisition, and

the application of SDLC Methods for testing. This was a Service Oriented Architecture

project with the customization of the Oracle 360 Commerce Point of Sale application in a web

environment using, XML, MQ Message Broker, and Websphere. Testing included open

systems, Yantra inventory interfaces, Integration Layer connectivity, as well as functional

testing for the Point-of-Sale application. Development team was located in Brazil.

IBM QA MANAGER 2005 - 2006

QA Manager for an engagement for Pep Boys automotive retail stores in Philadelphia,

Pennsylvania. Responsibilities included coordination and planning directly with the customer,

the production of test plans, the coordination of a three-tiered test environment at the customer

site, test execution, defect management and the application of SDLC Methods for testing. This

was an SOA project with the customization of the 360 Commerce Point of Sale application in

a web environment using SOAP protocol, XML, and Websphere. Testing included Integration

Layer connectors, adapters, and choreography, as well as functional application testing for the

Automotive Service Work Order Application which resides with POS. Development team was

located in China.

IBM TEST CONSULTANT 2004

Led a Test Data Repository project for Prudential Retirement Services. The project established a privatized DB2 database for testing and a Test Data Repository for other test files. The test data was mapped to a Lotus Notes Test Data Repository Directory which was designed for the project. Test Method recommendations were implemented to include Test Environment and Test Condition sections in Test Plans. The project enhanced the customer test team capability to reuse test data and provide high levels of test coverage including regression testing. All customer objectives were met or exceeded. Development team was located in India.

Provided User Acceptance Testing consulting to a mortgage preparation company for a complex Web application which was converted from a client server environment. This included User Acceptance testing guides, screen specifications, and business scenarios for eleven subsystems and 450 screens.

IBM QA ARCHITECT 2003

Performed as the QA Architect in a large engagement for the State Farm Insurance company. Responsibilities included coordination and planning directly with the customer, the production of test plans and specifications for five functional sub-systems within one line of business for ten states. The test specifications were completely traceable, they spanned a three-tiered test environment and included over 10,000 test cases. Managed test execution with a staff of fifteen, defect management, and the change control process. Applied SDLC Methods in the development of the test specifications and in test execution. The positive results of the test design were evidenced by the customer approval and specific compliments of both the test specifications and test execution. The customer stated that they were very pleased with testing, particularly the thoroughness. Testing further uncovered over 100 production defects.

IBM QA MANAGER 2002

Performed as the QA Manager in a large engagement for the State Farm Insurance company. Responsibilities include coordination and planning directly with the customer, the production of test plans, the preparation and coordination of the three-tiered test environment at the customer site, test execution, defect management and the application of SDLC Methods for development and testing. The positive results of the pilot project include an additional credit card revenue stream for two lines of business, with expansion to two additional lines due ease of use and its popularity among sales agents.

IBM TEST CONSULTANT 2000 - 2001

Test Consultant for a development project of a new Web Site with Vignette for the Wall Street Journal. This project was very high profile and had visibility all the way up to CEO level. Worked with a team of test analysts in the development of test cases and test scripts. Supported the Web Based Test Warehouse and Defect Tracking tool Test Director. Provided defect tracking procedures as well as guidelines to determine severity and priority. Created several functional test planning documents including the detailed design documentation as well as the detail level scripts and scenarios. This site was eventually delivered to the client with a Defect Closure Rate of 90% + defects.

TEST LEAD, SOFTWARE QUALITY ASSURANCE 1997 – 2000

Highmark Blue Shield

Performed Quality Assurance management and software testing for five major health insurance application projects over three years. Lead staff of four to review project deliverables using the IBM Full Life Cycle Testing Methodology, performed QA testing, which included integration, system, regression, and stress testing in the mainframe, client/server, and Web environments. Manual testing was performed, and automated test tools included SQA Team Test and Loadrunner. FOCUS, SAS, and SQL were used to perform data integrity analysis.
