Summary

I am a Mechanical Design Engineer with over 2 years and a half of experience working with mechanical systems and hydraulic components in Product Design Engineering for planters and PDPs, CIs, and factory support for CM at John Deere. I worked designing Upgrade kits for large and small planters within the hydraulic team. Currently, I am working on redesigning the lift system of the Z9 ZTrack, cost-reduction projects for CWB, and various CIs. I have implemented CAD, GD&T, tolerance stack-up, DFMEA, and FEA in my design work where I have worked under all phases of PLS, leading physical and digital builds. I view each day as an opportunity to positively impact the world, no matter how big or small. Professional Experience

John Deere Monterrey, Mexico.

Mechanical Design Engineer II – Structural April 2023 – Present Responsibilities:

• Research, design, and develop structural systems for JD commercial mowers. Create sheet metal, machined, forged, plastic (surface modeling and injection molding), and casting CAD models using PTC Creo. Use FEA software (Simsolid and NX) to analyze the structural integrity of designs.

• Research, and create solutions for CI issues for CM. Project lead for two capability projects.

• Create and maintain drawings using GD&T standards, and tolerance stack-up. Prepare Design Review and DFMEA documentation for product development.

• Create physical prototypes to validate structural integrity and interaction with other components and systems.

• Work closely with product verification, quality, supply chain engineers, and multiple cross-functional teams, in the US, India, Mexico, and Brazil. Constant supplier communication. Led weekly engineering meetings with the CM team. Achievements:

• Improve SVA of CWB while reducing annual production costs up to $ 90k by redesigning the battery holder, and converting multiple weldment parts into casting parts. I created designs, cost analyses, and prototype parts, and led physical tests that successfully validated the designs.

• Decreased production cost of Z9 ZTracks by $40k annual savings by modifying custom hardware with standard hardware and solving current production issues at the chassis and frames.

• Investigate the redesign of the lift system of Z9 by communizing, improving mechanical properties, and simplifying parts from other ZTrack machines to reduce the complexity and cost of the machine. I created cost analyses, and prototype parts, and led physical tests focusing on the dynamic motion of the lift system that successfully validated the designs. Mechanical Design Engineer I - Hydraulics September 2021- April 2023 Responsibilities:

• Design, and develop hydraulic upgrade systems for JD planters. Create hydraulic, pneumatic, and air hoses, sheet metal, and plastic CAD models using PTC Creo. Use FEA software (Simsolid and NX) to analyze the structural integrity of designs.

• Create and maintain drawings using GD&T standards. Create BOM for manufacturing, and design requirements. Prepare Design Review documentation for product development. Create DFMEA documentation.

• Work closely with product verification, quality, supply chain engineers, and multiple cross-functional teams, in the US, India, Mexico, and Brazil. Constant supplier communication Achievements:

• Integrate John Deere technology into a joint venture competitor's frame to reach the small farmer's sector by redesigning hydraulic components from 6 different planter machines.

• Led the improvement of hydraulic routing and retention by decreasing hose PN by up to 35% by communizing hoses and redesigning brackets.

• Develop a peer review template to consistently and accurately analyze hydraulic routing design to reduce CI and production lead time issues.

G&G Professional Carbide Tool Monterrey, Mexico.

Design Engineer June 2021-September 2021

Responsibilities:

• Design, and develop CAD models for cutting tools. Create and maintain drawings using GD&T standards. Achievements:

• Productivity increase of 27% of custom carbide tools through Creo Automatization using standards and design rules for cutting tools.
