Basic bedside nursing care to patients admitted to Observation unit. Performing admissions, assessment. Gathering medical, surgical, family and medication history. Administration of medications, monitoring telemetry, wound care, tube-feedings. Performing NIH assessment, and neuro-checks, CIWA monitoring, IV and blood transfusion, care and removal of various wound drains, assisting with bedside procedures, wound debridement, thoracentesis, lumbar puncture, and I & D. Participate with Risk Management Team with enforcing OSHA/JCHO procedures and within the standards of care. At times filled in as a HUC for the unit. Entering physician's orders, calling in referral calls to Specialist for consults. monitoring lab results, charting and documenting nursing care rendered, including any change in patient's condition.
