Designing of supersonic nozzle for the Plasma Wind Tunnel (PWT) of the Advanced System Laboratory (ASL), DRDO.

Operation envelopes for the PWT of (ASL) DRDO have been found using the regression equation developed by AEDC (Arnold Engineering Development Center) of the USA. Action Performed:

CFD simulation has been carried out for supersonic nozzle flow with exit Mach number of 3 and flow characteristics studied.

Project Details: FE modelling of the Door panel of a car using HYPER MESH Scope of the work:

Building of FE Model with flow-through mesh for crash-analysis of the Door handles clearance plastic. Action Performed:

Necessary geometry clean-up was performed.

Further worked on rotating quads as per the client’s requirements. Quality checks were performed post- implementation.

Project Details: The 2D meshing of Door handles Clearance the Plastic of a car using HYPER MESH – Scope of the work:

Building the FE Model for stress analysis of the Door handles Clearance Plastic of a car importing the IGES model and cleaning up the geometry.

Action Performed:

Generated one layer of QUAD4 elements around slots and bolt holes.

The Remaining areas are meshed using linear quad elements.

Only QUAD4 elements are generated for the entire model and checked for free edges and duplicates.

Quality parameters are maintained according to client requirements. Application Used:

Project Details: Comparison of airflow and contaminant distributions in rooms with traditional displacement ventilation and Underfloor air distribution systems

Scope of the work:

Comparison of Traditional Displacement Ventilation Systems.

TDV with Under Floor Air Distribution.

UFAD systems use four different diffusers in an environmental chamber that can simulate different spaces of the same sizes.

Action Performed:

Validated CFD simulation to further study the performance of the TDV system

11. Organization: Defence Research and Development Organization Period: January 2011 to June 2011

Role: Assistant Trainee

Scope of the work:

Study of the behaviour of carbon epoxy composite materials, under loaded conditions.

The specimens are tested using the acoustic emission technique and a sufficient amount of data is acquired from the acoustic emission equipment.

Action Performed:

Data acquired is processed using MATLAB and various plots are then plotted.

Further, the technique is applied to other specimens.

Data acquired is analyzed to come to a strong conclusion about the behaviour of composites using the acoustic emission techniques which prove to be a powerful NDT method. Application Used:

Design a blade and manufacture it with the help of different manufacturing methods. Action Performed:
