IT strategy development and implementation while leading people from a team, project level or department-sized IT organizations. Cross functional relationship expert. Known to be a problem solver and expert in vendor management with experience in biddings, evaluations, managing a highly matrixes or flat organizations, large scale client and project management execution and infra delivery upon key success measurements to attain business goals.

• IT ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT, GOVERNANCE & TRANSFORMATION EXPERIENCE: I’ve led
Organization’s development from inception to managing its operations. Some worth to mention are: (1) Built organization that driven technology infrastructure innovations as well as provided e2e (end-to-end) IT technology system and support in Bayan Tel, San Miguel and Coke, (2) Successfully completed organizational transformation in Coke and PDS from internal/traditional to ITIL based / managed-services framework which was the first IT-Managed services arrangement (Helpdesk / ServiceDesk, included) in Asia Pac and PH, respectively (3) In Philippine Dealing Systems, I’ve spearheaded transformational initiatives from traditional financial services delivery to virtualized driven framework even before AWS or Azure’s business model started growing in the Philippines, and (4) Led and successfully transformed Verizon’s Global Provisioning capabilities from In-sourced to Offshoring to further expanding it to India and eventually outsourcing it to Accenture. • BUSINESS ACUMEN: Financial Competencies in P&L, Revenue Management, Program Cost & Budget
Management. In Bayan Tel, I was able to justify and control group capitalization of PHP 10M in the time when most companies tighten their belts during the Asian financial crisis in the mid to late 1990s. As a result, and as history shows, Bayan Tel became the primary data telco provider in the Philippines because of the technology initiatives / blueprints that I authored and to some built.
Operationally, I have also successfully managed my department’s expenditure within the budgeted allocations even when there were changes in business or technology directions mid year.
From a business financial perspective, I’m able to lead or help realize revenue projections in all the programs and initiatives that I’m responsible/involved in during my stints in Verizon, IBM and Huawei.
On Cost Management, I helped finalize product and services costing / Pricing offers in Bayan Tel (Managed Services), PDS (FinTech Services) and Huawei (Solution and Delivery Offers). Successfully consulted on innovations of up to USD 11M and managed project revenue of up to USD 9M
• PEOPLE / RESOURCE LEADERSHIP & MANAGEMENT: I had very low resource attrition rating due to my management approach which is combination of being “Operationally Strategic”, “Objective Policy Centric”, applies an “Open-Door Policy” on communications, always applies “Fair Labor Practices” without affecting the organization’s bottom-line and always encourages and supports “Team and Individual Skill Development” and experience in developing and managing IT Capability Model. Successfully managed regional service and operation as well as global delivery services with direct and indirect # of technical and managerial resources from as lean as 9 (PDS) to as large as 300+ in IBM to as complicated but structured organization of 41 (Verizon-PH and India).
• TECHNOLOGY CHAMPION / CONSULTING / PRODUCT AND SERVICES DEVELOPMENT / PROGRAM
MANAGEMENT CAPABILITIES: I am a confident innovator, experienced consultant, solution architect and
successfully driven infra technology (traditional shared or cloud) initiatives through strategic thinking and
planning and by developing technology and architectural roadmaps. To highlight some from my past
successes; (1) Since late 90s, I’ve spearheaded the development of the first multi service products for both
retail and corporate clients through leading my organization in R&D, Technology Strategy & Planning (RFI,
RFP, Project Management to Continuous Operational Improvements) in different enterprise industries that I
got involved in, (2) Strategized technology roadmaps based on collaboration works, market research and
business alignment analysis, (3) In early to late 2000s, I’ve developed a corporate capability that in principle,
is what is now known as “cloudification”, “virtualization” and “mobilization” which is at least 5 years ahead of
its time (In PDS) and developed the first “Shared Services” and “Managed Services’-like framework for both
corporate and external clients, (4) Led a Virtual Global and AGILE Team of cross-functional and regional
leaders that improved hand-over process that eventually reduced “Failure After Install” major incidents that
increase satisfaction ratings of Verizon from their global corporate clientele and completed the first ever
Virtualized NOC / CEM (Customer Experience Management System) in the Philippines (Huawei – PLDT USA
“Unified Services Assurance) worth USD 9M.
• COLLABORATIVE, TEAM PLAYER & CROSS-FUNCTIONAL SUCCESSES IN MY 18 YEARS OF
LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE: I have been known to step up or successfully arbitrate issues or resolve cross functional gaps as well as manage major clients concern, to name a few (1) In my Telco exposures, I was able to plan, justify and transition infra and network capabilities in IT to Telco engineering and operational groups that enabled smooth knowledge transfer and paved the way to market expertise and services to Telco corporate clients, (2) collaborated with marketing, business development and sales team, in Philippine Dealing Systems, which eventually launched the virtualized IT infra financial delivery platform, 7 months into my first year with the company and in which previous IT leaders have failed to do, (3) Spearheaded the
negotiations that salvaged client relations in Huawei and IBM, resolved issues “out-of-scope” definition agreements and “delivery issues” resolutions, respectively and 4) still capable of providing solutions in a very limited, sole contributor’s role, in Yondu Inc when I successfully spearheaded development of a highly critical messaging integration exchange mandate in Globe, collaborated with Enterprise, Design and Operations team.
Traits:

Verizon, IBM and Huawei.
• Can work with a very lean or very large number of technical/professionals. Or structured, traditional or
matrix organization structure.
