The objective of the project is to extend a simplified approach to develop CATIA V5 parent wing ribs models from the client given CATIA V5 files. The activities stock design, surface extraction, stock split, fillet design, appending lug & pockets, wall thickness check & correction, feature recognition of holes, QC and revision were performed. Accomplished the development for AIRBUS A320 on CATIA V5R16 platform for our client HSM Technologies, Chennai for their end user Sonaca SA, Belgium.

2. Automotive Seat back Frame

Description:

Our customer required for a new seat back frame design for their Belt-in- Seat System type of Seat assembly which improves comfort and performance of seat belt restraint systems which is mounted on passenger seat instead of vehicle body.

Problems Identified:

The occupants may find difficulties in accessing the seat belt from the vehicle body and the removal of fixed belt anchor points.

Solution:

The seat back frame is designed with upright members for D-ring mounting and diagonal guide way imparted for web travel. Also, the frame is developed with enough cross ribs for even rigidity on action of seat belts. The various sheet metal model development done using CATIAV5 and necessary drawings are made.

3.Expandable Container Holder for Vehicles

Description:

The objective of the project is to design a container holder which is flexible enough to hold different sized containers in a vehicle. The holder must be able to hold cans of different size and also tapered cups. To accomplish all these purposes a holder is designed that includes a resilient curvilinear wall with overlapping free ends movable toward and away from each other to vary the diameter of container holding opening defined by the wall. It includes means of locking the ends to the selected adjustable position to present a container holder with a selected diameter. It also includes a box like shape adapted to catch and contain spilled liquids therein for later disposal.
