Managing several features of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute grant, proficiently hire and supervised over 20 college student employees in the maintenance of the Tutorial/Mentoring component’s operation, IU faculty laboratories for placement and research training of Attucks teachers and students, arranged for prominent display of Attucks researchers’ posters in the hallways after a white coat ceremony for the students, a most notable achievement in this role was the creative shepherding of the establishment of a Simulation Center at Attucks modeled after Indiana University’s Simulation Center, assisted in, along with the Division Director, applying for and received a no-cost grant extension. Creative addition of a few new dimensions to the MASH and Brain Link programs, refined the afternoon session adding Pre-programming of parental conferences as well as a dental piece to the programming, student development, and recreational features to the curriculum of these solid programs, committed in conducting Pre-programming conferences, as they were often held after 5:00 p.m. – at the end of an otherwise exhaustive day, incorporate the Excursion into Dentistry which necessitated coordination between Dental and Medicine Schools in the use of respective laboratories and faculties, there was a learning curve displayed in bridging the gap between the two Schools and ordering dental supplies was phenomenal, and a deep compassion and devotion to children was shown by infusing recreational and other student development activities into these heavily – academic summer programs.

Dedicated to training, hiring and supervision of over 40 staff members, 600 students and volunteers that just wanted to participate in the programs; developed curriculum and training materials for Tutors/Mentors; prepared training for the teachers and medical student staff for the summer Brain Link and MASH programs.
