Prepares and conducts site check-ins for uniform compliance, conduct trainings for new hires and current staff including workplaces searches, drug and alcohol procedures, and related safety and security topics. Performs clerical functions and support to include filing and record maintenance (both hardcopy and through computer programs) including entry of patient demographics and insurance information. Contacts clients and patients to obtain missing information as needed. Provides on-call and mobile services as required; may travel to multiple locations as assigned. Maintains adequate supply inventories and notifies supervisor/manager of any issues in a timely manner. Assists in the training/orientation of new staff members and participates in the CSI and continuing education programs. Performs laboratory information systems functions for test receipt, requisition and labeling; may perform and record required checks of laboratory equipment and test systems and notifies supervisor/manager of any issues. Participates in Health Fair events and performs finger punctures. Cleans laboratory equipment, glassware and work surfaces as well as prepares laboratory reagents and other testing supplies with accuracy and with documentation of performed QC checks. Problems are reported to trainers & leadership.

At this time, I would like to offer this letter of recommendation on behalf of Mr. Allen “AJ” Davis, who served as the strength and conditioning coach for the Department of Athletics at Cedar Crest College.

Since arriving at Cedar Crest College in the Fall of 2012, I served in my current capacity as Associate Director of Athletics for Operations & Facilities and as Interim Director of Athletics, Recreation and Wellness in 2014-15, in addition to Head Basketball and Cross Country Coach.

Prior to AJ’s arrival, the Department of Athletics utilized Active Trax as a means of providing our student-athletes with a personalized strength and conditioning program. It was a program that could not provide us with accurate measurable results.

Cedar Crest sponsors nine intercollegiate athletic programs with 90 student-athletes. One third of this population participates on two intercollegiate teams and ten percent participate on three intercollegiate teams. AJ, dedicated his time and energy to assisting our student- athletes in building a better conditioning foundation that allowed them to compete at a higher level on the field, court or in the pool.

Whether a 90 minutes once or 45 minutes three times a week, his training regime was customized to meet the intensity needs of every team. He challenged each athlete to get out of their comfort zone, in such a way that was supportive and encouraging.

AJ came to us when our department was at a crossroads and he successfully served as that much needed bridge, having him was truly a blessing. AJ came to Cedar Crest with an open mind and a determination that couldn’t be found in a software program. He emerged himself into the Cedar Crest community and provided training assistance to not only student-athletes, but anyone who needed assistance.

He was giving of his time and expertise at an institution in which he had no previous affiliation. He has proven himself to be invaluable and the consummate team player.
