INSTRUCTOR 08/2005 to 09/2015
Taught several natural science courses, primarily chemistry (which a prerequisite for a nursing degree)
The evening college naturally attracts students of a relatively lower socioeconomic status, many were single mothers, sleep deprived, and most were seeking to improve their status as a nurse
(LPN to RN status)
These students are a struggling population and flocked to me after classes and during office hours for advice on all manner of life choices and experiences
After talking to my colleagues, it became clear that students seeking advice on life choices is not a common occurrence, but it was to me.
