While at Shelton I was an active member of their Chemistry Club. At times I was the only member. Dr. Andrea Wallace was the Advisor for the club. For over two years we traveled the City and County schools, putting on Chemistry Demonstrations for K-6th graders. Some weeks we did as many as six shows. Dr. Wallace and I did many demonstrations when there was just the two of us.

We were also able to put on a chemistry camp for sixth grade students one summer where we brought kids into the chemistry lab at Shelton and Shelton Chemistry Students supervised and guided the kids through their own experiments.

PUBLICATIONS

I have had two abstracts published by the American College of Rheumatology and they appear in their 63rd Annual Scientific Meeting Journal. These were both written in 1999 while I was working for the LUMINA Study. It should be noted that I am listed there by my maiden name of R Gregory. They are as follows:

A Comparison Between a Vertical and Horizontal Visual Analog Scale to Measure Disease Activity for Patients with SLE. I was second author on this abstract. The first author on that abstract, Kemi T. Brooks presented it during the ACR Poster Session C: Health and Services Outcomes II.

Unexpected Lack of Occurrence of Fibromyalgia Among a Cohort of SLE Patients from Three Ethnic Groups. I was first author on this abstract and it was accepted for oral presentation. I presented it during the ARHP Concurrent Session: Ethnicity and Outcomes.
