I graduated in 2010 from college with my respiratory degree. I've worked in a variety of departments such as the ER, ICU, TCU, Peds, labor and delivery, LTACH and Med Surg. I’ve worked an average of 3 days a week full-time for over 13 years. My passion was working for Home of the Innocence a LTACH pediatric hospital in Louisville, KY. I have taken care of a wide age range of patients from pediatrics to geriatric patients. I routinely took care of open-heart patients at KMC. I am seasoned with protocols, weaning parameters, ABG's, and extubating. I routinely was scheduled back in the OR or in the emergency department to assist the doctors and or surgeons in intubating/extubating patients. I am comfortable with my abilities when faced with a wide range of health care settings. I am most familiar, therefore most comfortable in different categories of ICU setting. Such as trauma ICU, Neuro ICU, and cardiac ICU. However, I am adaptive to work on all units with any tasks associated with respiratory therapy like handling the duties of suctioning, and interpreting arterial blood gases, or taking students. EQUIPMENT
I have worked with and I am comfortable with mechanical ventilators such as the 7200, 840, Servo 1, Hamilton C1, V60, and Dragers. I comfortably set up and clean mechanical ventilators to ensure the equipment is functioning safely and efficiently. I have worked with a variety of modes of ventilation with patients like CPAP/BIPAP,, SIMV,CMV,PRVC, VC, PC, Reverse IE Ratio, FVC, Vision Bipap/Cpap, V60's, CPEP/CHFO, vapotherm, opti flows, Ezpaps, collecting and interpreting ABG's. Obtaining and analyzing sputum. Utilizing various types of equipment and administering therapeutic oxygen to patients, administering bronchodilators, iIncentive spirometry instruct. Morrover, beside PFT's, bedside VC/NIF testing, overnight oximetry, and Placing artificial airways. Educating on smoking cessations.
