●Reporting directly to the director of nursing (DON) and the practice director.

●Certified medical assistant (CMA) provides patient care under the direction of the CMO and the LPN.

●Assists with supplies and equipment ordering and is committed to creating a positive team environment while being a good team member.

●Escorts patient from waiting room to the exam room. Utilizes organizer in the EMR to assign rooms and move the patient accordingly.

●Takes a history of visit and chief complaints and documents EMR.

●Assist nurses in completing new patient admission by obtaining patients history for chief complaint, smoking status, depression, review allergies, and health guidelines.

●Take temperature, pulse, blood pressure, respiration rate, height and PHQ2 weight of all patients following the protocol, including pulse oximetry as indicated.

●Educate patient on taking off the shoes for accurate weight measurement and inspection of feet, especially for diabetic patients.

●Reviews level of pain with patient and documents all vital signs in patient’s chart in the EHS.

●Perform dipstick urinalysis, pregnancy test (OB), vision, hearing, and head circumference (Pediatrics).

●Documents all findings in patient’s chart in EHS. Collaborate with provider, and nurse for further follow up on any tests as needed based on a patient’s result.

●Administers vaccines according to policy using two identifiers, providing proper vaccine information sheets to patients and accurately documents information in the chart overview in EMR.

●Pediatric CMA’s assist nurses in entering appropriate patient data in NJIIS Registry, and provide patients/guardians with vaccine side effect education booklet as per NJ State requirement.

●CMA may assist nurses in returning telephone calls flagged from a call center in a timely manner.

●If CMA is bilingual; Translates for the provider and other clinical staff as needed.

●Prepares patient exam rooms, patients for exams, and assists providers during exams and procedure as requested.

●Call NO SHOW patients within 30 minutes after the appointment is missed, assist patient with re- scheduling the appointment and document accordingly.

●Completes all mandatory in- services and attends all required meetings.

●Other duties as assigned.

Education

Proficient in Microsoft Office, Internet, Email, and Faxing.

Bi- lingual (English/Spanish)

Medical and Judicial certified interpreter.
