OBJECTIVE:

Seeking the position as Construction Superintendent, I bring with me 33 years of experience in the construction Industry. Experience in Oil and Gas, Chemical, Nuclear, Power Generation, and Mining and Minerals. Perform field walkdown on Motiva terminals, Port Arthur, Fort Lauderdale, Dallas and Waco Texas

During these walkdown’s I will be performing the following, field sketching piping, pumps, tanks valves and all specialties items, and redraw in accordance with Motiva updated piping and equipment legends, codes and standard. Also extracting important data from pumps, and equipment such as pump size, head pressure, GPM, motor data, HP, voltage, and RPM, on tanks the diameter, capacity, roof type (Floating or Flat) and material type.

Redline existing P&ID’s where changes were made and was picked up on the existing P&ID’s and re-cad all drawings.

Also functioned as Field Engineering Lead and supervised the daily tasks of three field engineers and two designers. Walk down and red line and update P&ID’s using AutoCAD. By identifying all changes that were made during construction, upgrade and turnaround, to ensure it was captured on revised P&ID’S for HAZOP and for process overview.

A short term assignment, to assist with the backlog of material needed to be ordered for turnaround and maintenance projects for Marathon Galveston Bay refinery, during this time I was responsible for the following. Received orders in material system manager, review order and clarify that the material meets the specification called out in the Job Card package, research the material item code to validate it correspond with the material that is being ordered, communicate with vendor to on availability and ETA of material, work with other contractor planners and construction personnel to resolve issues with lost or missing materials that may need to be repurchase and or refabricate. Worked closely with the engineering groups and monitored the arrival of engineering material to the site and keeping up with the schedule for any late arrivals of material for the specific projects.

Contracted by Yates for an eight months project that lasted for one year, at HESS Archer Facility in Cadiz Ohio, from the initial stage to the completion. During this time as piping field engineer my responsibilities was as follow. Provided technical interpretation of design documents in support of the Construction Manager, Superintendent and Contractors, also provided specific expertise for problem solving. Monitored and inspected Construction operations to ensure conformance to project quality, safety, security and specific requirement. Addressed all RFI issues and interfaced with client in daily meetings and conference calls making sure that the schedule dates and deadlines were met. Review specifications, drawings, material requirements and vendor equipment documentation from both within the discipline as well as from other discipline for compliance with project requirements and actively seeking discrepancy resolution. Hired by PES for the first quarter turnaround on a short term three month assignment to provide assistance in system close out and turnover. As FCO coordinator on a $265M turnaround responsible for closing out all piping and mechanical systems for the PSR process. Revived all construction packages, selecting and verifying all quality documents, monitoring construction work in the field, coordinating and participated in all mechanical and piping walk downs, creating punch list, review all the close out documents (QVD) and submitting packages to be turned over to the client.

One year contract to provide services to the field walk down group in completing the PSM work on several units at the BP refinery; which is now the Marathon Galveston Bay Refinery. Prepared and reviewed layouts for conceptual and detailed designs. Provided close interface and promoted the understanding of other discipline functions. Reviewed specifications, material requirements, and vendor equipment documentation from both within and outside the discipline for compliance with project requirements. Initiated action when necessary to ensure the project was being built as specified in the scope of work.
