•As a technician I would work up the patients in the exam rooms: Checking visual fields, EOM's, confrontational fields, cover test, Ishihara test(the fly

test),autorefractor, slit lamp, refracting, Retinoscopy testing, pupil testing, and much more to prepare the doctor for the remaining portions of

the patient's exam.

•In front office Management: My additional responsibilities were to input the proper medical Coding and Billing codes: CPT and IDC9 codes into our Billing software. I verified all the insurances, and we billed in the office . I have full training with use of much of the software’s for example: Care Credit, Medinformatix, Medflow, Opto, and many others over the years of working in the medical field. I contacted other doctor offices, and hospitals

regarding referred appointments, and surgeries at the request of the doctor. Preparing prescriptions, and scheduling.

•As a technician: I performed general eye exams to prepare patients for the surgery, and extensive Lasik/PRK eye exams that contributed to the Lasik or PRK surgeries. I am

trained, and certified on specific surgical equipment such as what is called a Custom Vue Wave Scan, and Orb scan.

•I am certified on: Custom Vue Laser which is used to perform the Lasik, and PRK surgeries. Calculating the patient's eye prescriptions, and

inputting the surgeon’s final prescription into the laser to construct the patients’ new prescription. I was assigned to assist the Surgeon

throughout each surgery in assisting the Doctor. Examining each patient during pre-op appointments, and post-op appointments, and their future appointments with the

proper instructions to ensure each patient an outstanding beneficial result. I explained the post-op instructions to each patient as well.

•I also handled front office scheduling, billing, accounting, and in some cases training for new or existing colleagues. Scheduling for surgeries, or scheduling for follow up appointments are pre-

op, and post-op visits. Maintaining staff flow, and patient flow. Consulting patients with each purchase packet making sure the patient is ultimately satisfied, and ready to move forward. Explaining how to utilized Care Credit as an option, while building a professional, but still compassionate relationship towards each patient to ensure satisfaction, and trust.

•Registering: ER patients into multiple systems that I received complex training on. These are some of the softwares I utilized: Meditech, SSI E-verify, Availity, MEvsnet, Ibip, Host, and several other softwares. I was trained substantially throughout a prolonged course on Medicare, and all its parts. Medicaid, and Medicare being the main insurances used. My completion

for this concluded with certifications given through the HCA/JFK Medical Center Hospital. In result of this training I was in full control in the coding and billing process used to bill through the hospital to the insurance companies properly.

•Using proper Legal requirements, and all the proper, and legal forms for collecting any monies such as ER Co-pays, In-Patient Co-pays, balances in collection, and to be able to obtain patient information.

•Working in the ER Environment I gained great experience such as being able to understand the different types of emergencies, how each RN, or ER Doctor handled each specific emergency. I was also able to assist during an Emergency situation, and that to me was an experience I will never forget.

Organization, and being able to multitask was a big factor, due to making sure you have each client identified. This helps me greatly so when I am working on multiple clients I am able to jump back, and forth while being able to answer any questions my clients have without having to stumble, and make a client wait while trying to find them the answer they need. All in all treating my clients like they are number one, but also being truthful to them which gives me a reasonable amount of time to work on their file without lowering their expectations on time, and progress.
