EXPERIENCE

American Deli, Georgia – General Manager

June 2021 – Nov 2023

American Deli is a quick service franchise restaurant. As a General Manager I oversaw all aspects of four different locations from inventory management to overall business proficiency. During my time here I’ve increased sales at each location by an average of 80% year over year. I had to be adaptable to be able to rectify issues as they arose. In addition, I’ve created P&L reports and analyzed them to find the average percentage of spending vs profit. My role as a General Manager covered many different aspects of the business, which included general repairs, customer service, cooking, inventory management, performance analysis, financial reporting/analysis, catering, and much more. During my time here I’ve developed and honed many skills, I was challenged in many ways but overcame each challenge with creativity and efficiency.

JSBBQ, East Brunswick – Assistant Manager

March 2015 – May 2021

JSBBQ is a BBQ restaurant specializing in serving Texas style BBQ such as Beef Brisket, Pulled Pork, Wings and a plethora of sides from Collard Greens to Mac & Cheese. As assistant manager, I oversaw basic day to day operations including expediting, checking inventory, and filling in any positions that required additional hands whether it be cooking on the line, taking orders, bagging food and more. JSBBQ Prides itself on serving fresh smoked meats, this meant that we’d have to check stock on meats constantly throughout the day and think on our feet if we were sold out of any product due to unprecedented popularity. With increased popularity in the Central Jersey area the owners have opened a third location. The menu consists of a wide variety of customizable combos so each order can be completely unique and requires great care and attention to detail to ensure the customers receive the correct orders in a timely manner.

Hanssem Corporation, Edison — Purchasing Agent, Temporary IT Technician

Feb 2019 – May 2021

Hanssem Corp. is a small business to business manufacturing company which provides Cabinetry to dealers and clients. As a purchasing agent, my role in the company is to seek out and find raw materials and negotiate pricing with various vendors both domestically and internationally. I oversee maintaining a steady supply of the base materials in cabinetry, which include but not limited to Veneer Core, Particle Board, and MDF panels, as well as most chemicals such as conversion varnish paints, and stains. I am constantly negotiating pricing in the ever-changing market to get the most value and quality on all products. As a result of working with various raw materials I also oversee the NJDEP Radius submission to make sure we are within operating permit limits in emissions (VOC and HAP content of chemicals. In addition, I have a trainer license to operate and instruct company employees on factory/warehouse equipment, such as Forklift, Scissor lifts, etc., to OSHA compliance and standards. Since starting at Hanssem, I have saved the company on average $25,000 per year on packaging supplies alone, by consolidating items to fewer vendors. In addition to my main role being a purchasing agent, I am required to adapt to changing situations as well and making sure all building, and factory equipment are functioning properly and calling in services to help prevent future breakdowns or malfunctions. I have implemented service contracts on HVAC equipment and factory equipment to minimize downtime if any should fail due to regular usage.

The IT work I have done at Hanssem was temporary, but crucial. I have managed the internal domain network, servers, as well as the internal Hanssem System and reorganized the server room so that errors can be found quickly when they arise. The IT work done at Hanssem was basic, but integral to day-to-day operations company wide. I have also deployed multiple new computers to all offices as well as upgrading the outdated dedicated landline to a VoIP phone system which can be updated and monitored through an online portal.
