Reporting to the President, my primary role as member of the executive team was to direct strategic and technical initiatives inside the company. The strategic aspect includes development of framework to assess potential opportunities, setting goals for the team, hiring talent and

prioritize projects. The technical aspect includes getting actively involved in developing new equipment, identifying requirements, and setting timelines.

• Designed and implemented modernized process and packaging systems to create Gold-Medal juices. The technology has not been upgraded since the early 90’s.

• Increased overall production capacity to 260,000 gallons per day maximum from 90,000 gallons/day.

• Implemented automation solutions to remove human error and labor-intensive processes.

Corporate Process Controls Engineering Manager

Designed and monitored the quality, safety, and efficiency of control systems for all Smucker’s manufacturing plants. This included troubleshooting equipment or processes that needed to be improved, determined costs of labor and materials to conduct these improvements, and ensuring that processes are compliant with regulations. This work was usually performed with a team of

engineers from various plants to not only improve their systems, but also to create great analytical people at each location.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Established improvement solutions and cost estimates, managed work and assisted other plant engineers.

• Identified supporting service requirements and administrated construction progress of assigned projects.

• Monitored maintenance of Process Control Code and executed application of program loads.

protect plant assets in all locations.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure USDA, FDA and local regulations for equipment are being met and lead corrective action where necessary. Also ensure EPA, OSHA and other

governmental policies are complying with projects.

Engineering Service: Provide engineering services either through the internal organization or

through outside sources. In fulfilling the responsibility through outside consultants, recommend

and manage firms or individuals. Kept the consulting lists current, to evaluate performance and

to disseminate information regarding firms to applicable plants.
