Education

Lyons Community School, Brooklyn, New York. September 2010 – June 2014

New York State Regents Diploma, graduation June 2014.

Long Island University, Brooklyn, New York August 2013 – January 2014

Attended Department for High School Seniors and studied Freshman Composition.

Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC), New York, NY Fall 2014-Spring 2018

I was doing a Major in Criminal Justice, I completed the General Education requirements. Sadly, I couldn’t apply for graduation, I missed an Advanced English Literature course

[equivalent to 3 credits]. In my defense, English is my second language, Spanish is my first. One of my new year's resolutions is to re-enroll to complete the degree (Yes, after six years), I believe my writing has improved since then.

Work Experience

Hilton New York JFK Airport : November 2017- June 2021

I worked as a Banquet Houseman, Banquet Server, Restaurant Busser; assisted Bartender (rarely, but I did), Host, and Executive Lounge’s Concierge. In summary, during my time at the hotel, I worked every position at the Food and Beverage Department. However, the two positions I enjoyed, and spent the most time doing, were Banquet Houseman and Executive Lounge’s Concierge. As a Banquet Houseman I was responsible for setting the rooms for any upcoming events such as Birthdays, Weddings and Conferences. Depending on the type of event and client requests this could include adding covers to hundreds of chairs and dozens of tables, in a relatively short amount of time, adding speakers, stages, dance floor, or projectors and portable screens. As the Executive Lounge’s Concierge I was more, directly, involved with customer service, specifically those related with Diamond Members, the hotel's most valuable clients. I was responsible for providing them with information about the hotel services and assisting them with anything they could want. For example, making a separate reservation for breakfast or dinner, indicating location of computer labs or gyms, and explaining when pool hours will be available.

Additional Notes: By working for almost 4 years in the hospitality industry I have acquired the necessary skills.

Flexible Schedule. I have Done! Hotels are open 24 hours. I have worked morning shift, afternoon shift, nights shift, weekends and holidays. This being said, although I’m willing to be flexible, whenever necessary, I still prefer a stable schedule.

Collaborative and customer-centric.This is what hospitality is all about!

Willing to go above and beyond when needed. This was basically my Job as a concierge, and customers were very satisfied; I received many positive reviews.

Accountable and adaptable. I take responsibility for my actions and I’m always willing to learn.

Other work experience.
