SKILLS &

ABILITIES

MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional) certifications. Extensive training in computer software, hardware, and networking, which was invaluable as a business owner in a very computer-dependent field and my ability to manage our own computer needs, including hardware and software issues, troubleshooting, and resolution of problems. Worked closely with IT departments to establish and maintain networking capabilities for independent contractors to access hospital software programs. This included VPN connectivity, extensive program installation and integration, as well as input towards more user-friendly databases for more efficient information management.

Preparation and/or transcription of extensive and diverse variety of medical documents, including hospital acute care and private practice notes.

Microsoft Office apps proficiency as well as many other computer applications, software programs, and internet platforms. I am familiar with Medi-Scribe, Meditech, Amazing Charts, Citrix, EClinicalWorks EMR/EHR platforms and other health/medical-related programs.

Excellent communication capabilities including

administrative, department managers, IT personnel, and physicians as a small business owner requiring interaction and negotiations with these professionals.

Trained employees on software and company protocols. Evaluated employee performance and accuracy for Quality Assurance.

Trained several young women throughout my career in the medical transcription field who now make their careers as at- home medical transcriptionists.

Medical ICD 10 Coding Trained.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

I am most proud of the fact that I was able to train both of my daughters to be remote medical transcriptionists and they both worked their way through college, one with a master’s degree, and the other a PhD. Many, many long-term contracts of 15-20 years with various hospitals and doctors in a large metropolitan area. My daughters handle all of it now and I get to do other things that interest me.

When working for the cancer doctor, I had extensive patient interaction and doing such things as helping little ladies get their bras back on after manual cancer breast exams, and getting dressed, etcetera.

Personal and professional references available upon request.
