Counted narcotics and retrieved the med cart keys from co-worker whom I relieved . Passed medications to each resident at times that are scheduled in the MAR, observed the resident taking the medications, watched for any adverse reactions, documented in the MAR that the resident did or did not take the medication and if there were any adverse effects. Obtained resident’s blood sugar as ordered in the MAR and document findings before giving or withholding medications, obtained resident’s blood pressure before giving or withholding blood pressure medications. Ordered prescription refills, overseen tasks assigned to the CNA’s and document that they were done or not done, sanitized the top of the medication cart at the end of the shift, counted narcotics with the oncoming med tech and handed over the keys.
