Inventory and Demand Planning Manager Jan, 2023-Present

Manage seven inventory specialists, who act as purchasing agents, dealing with thousands of items from hundreds of vendors, both foreign and domestic.

Work with and guide both experienced and newer direct reports during a time when company is highly over inventoried to identify and prioritize purchases and manage open to buy dollars.

Took over and improved on major reporting that is used by marketing, sourcing, demand planning, transportation, finance and upper management. Reports include open purchase order tracking averaging 10,000 purchase orders open at any given time, receipts tracking and inventory tracking.

Worked with transportation to track orders at overseas consolidation facilities and help with the maximization of container space.

HUGO SPECIALTY FOODS, Omaha, NE

Data Analytics Manager Aug, 2019-Jan, 2023

Sole employee responsible for all data analytics for a company that sells very different product lines under one umbrella. Built the analytics department from scratch.

Pull together internal data from 5 different sources so the entire business can be analyzed and reported out on, mostly with pivot tables tied into Access tables.

Built Access databases to standardize data and assign several metrics from across the org so more deep dives could be done.

Built a forecast model using prior year sales. Update sales within the forecast template and work with sales to update forecast monthly.

Took point of sale data from several retailers and built standardized pivot table reports and dashboards for sales, sales velocity, profit margin and shrink.

Built hierarchies from scratch for four different consumer food segments so we could properly analyze the national sales and build stories of how our products performed.

Head production scheduler at pie production facility, using my forecast model to prioritize which skus to make during production days.

Head of inventory management in Dynamics 365 Business Central environment. Built out item and customer databases and oversaw all transfers of inventory between several company and third party facilities using lot codes.

Member of Group Sales Operations Support team responsible for Group Sales analysis and reporting.

Manage monthly, quarterly and yearly goals for sales office, property and citywide sales at both the hotel and salesperson level. These goals consisted of several thousand data points that needed to be maintained with 100% accuracy for compensation purposes.

Work closely with General Manager and other senior leaders in sales office and on property.

Use Microsoft Access to reference and build queries out of dozens of tables to maintain and create Microsoft Excel reports for use by Sales Office and Property personnel.

Do data analysis to determine effectiveness of Sales Office personnel, who sell into 112 Marriott banner hotels in northeast United States. Major markets include Boston, New York City and Philadelphia. Worked closely with Directors and Leaders in creating ad hoc reports.

Extensive use of pivot tables, pivot charts and tables linked into Access queries for easy updating.

Created several new reports for team in addition to maintaining and scrubbing current reports for accuracy. Built more on-going monthly reports than any of my colleagues in the 7 other regions.

I built several account based reports which required extensive raw data scrubbing. These types of reports were rarely done in my department due to poor data standards used for this field in company reporting system.

Lead analyst for pet supply and pet treat industry data for company from sources including Information Resources, Inc., A.C. Nielsen, and retailer-specific data. Developed reporting structures at market and retailer level, tailored to specific data available and metrics which sales, marketing, purchasing and executives required. Attended sales calls and presented findings to retail accounts. Communicated industry trends using data.

Developed and maintained table of close to 100,000 UPC codes, enabling extraction of data from any source and running it through a personally-developed hierarchy, quickly and efficiently making determinations and integrating information into sales efforts.

Created and maintained pro forma accounting system, enabling financial analysis of every potential piece of new business that sales proposed to management. Used item costing, pricing, item velocity, customer allowances, etc. in order to replicate our financial system, documenting how much profit there would be in every item sold to accounts under any potential scenario, resulting in a system that helped increase profitability across the board.

Analyzed retailer’s current product offerings and developed opportunity gap template, showing retail performance against competition across categories and subcategories. Retailers used this analysis to adjust product mix to one more in line with market trends to increase sales.

Developed a product rationalization platform that used all financial and sales metrics of each of our items so they could be analyzed by senior management to ensure they reached benchmarks to remain within our product offerings.

Pulled internal sales data from corporate mainframe, developing usable reports for company use.

Maintained item and customer master files, ensuring data integrity and uniformity. Used Microsoft Access extensively to download various tables out of mainframe to generate usable reports.

Developed new forecasting system used by marketing personnel, directly helping lower inventories.
