While attending Asnuntuck Community College from 2009 thru 2011, I was also primary care-giver to my elderly Mother whose mobility was declining due to Parkinson’s disease. Once I finished taking courses, I took on short-term part-time temporary assignments so as not to be away from the house for extended periods of time. For instance I worked at a job fair in Springfield for a few days, worked at Moe’s restaurant for approximately a month and filled in part-time as a CSR at a courier company for a couple months. My mother ended up in a senior living complex and is now a permanent resident of a nursing home. I was then able to make myself available for permanent, full-time work.
