A provider with over 28 years in the medical field. I have an extensive nursing history. I started at University of Mississippi Medical Center as a staff nurse on a Medical Surgical/Trauma/Postpartum floor in July 1995. I became a charge nurse and preceptor nurse within a year. After two years of Floor Nursing, I transferred to the Intensive Care Unit. I started my nursing administration career in 1999 as a Nurse Manager at a Long term Care Facility. I managed a 102 bed Medicare/Medicaid Long Term Care Facility. While performing my duties as a nurse manager, I became very familiar with ensuring State and Federal guidelines were being followed while resident’s care was priority. I served as a Director of Nursing at an Inpatient Hospice/ Home Hospice Facility and in a Long Term Care Facility which included responsibilities of recruiting new employees, managing budgets, overseeing daily operations and setting departmental work schedules.I also worked as a Clinical Director over 100 bed Assisted Living Community which included managing all nursing and maintenance/ancillary staff.
