Employment History

Formulation Technician II, Argonaut Manufacturing Services, Carlsbad, CA. November 2021 – August 2023.

Involved in the formulation of numerous buffers and drug products in adherence to established SOP’s while following current Good Manufacturing Practices. All work is conducted in clean rooms utilizing various pieces of laboratory equipment including pH Meters, Balances, Pipettes, Filters, Autoclaves, overhead mixers, pumps and Centrifuges. Perform calculations and clean and autoclave glassware.

Seafood Processor, Trident Seafoods, Seattle, WA. May 2019 to May 2021.

Initially assigned to the M/V Independence, a 364’ factory ship operating out of Tacoma, Washington. After traveling 14 days, processed salmon at several locations in Bristol Bay as well as Prince William Sound. Work was performed seven days a week, 16 hours a day. Arrived back to Tacoma in late August, 2019.

In September, 2019, was assigned to the Factory Trawler Island Enterprise out of Dutch Harbor, Alaska. Fished for and processed Pollock in the Bering Sea, under extreme weather conditions, and Hake off the coast of Oregon. As is the practice, work was performed 16 hours a day, 7 days a week.

In early January, 2020, returned to the M/V Independence and traveled to Akutan, Alaska. There we processed cod, returning to Tacoma in late April, 2020.

In May, 2020, was assigned to the M/V Aleutian Falcon, processing salmon in Bristol Bay, Alaska.

Production Technician, Scantibodies Laboratories, Santee, CA. November 2012 – May 2019

After working in the Inventory Department for one year, was assigned to the Immunochemistry Department producing large quantities of purified murine (mouse) antibodies. Responsibilities included preparing numerous buffers, making 10M NaOH and 6M HCl for the entire laboratory, bottling and labeling finished product, performing calculations, maintaining a laboratory notebook, ordering supplies and cleaning glassware. Equipment utilized included pH meters, scales, water baths, ultrafiltration units, chromatographic columns, pipettes, filling machines, centrifuges, mixers and conductivity meters.

Parole Agent I, California Department of Corrections, San Diego, CA May 2004 – August 2011

Supervised convicted felons paroled out of prisons in California. Conducted investigations into parole violations, administered anti-narcotic tests, conducted unannounced home visits, assisted local, state and federal law enforcement agencies, made arrests, wrote reports, transported parolees in violation to local jails and state prisons and testified in criminal and administrative court proceedings. Was assigned specialized caseloads including Second Strikers and High Risk Sex Offenders.

Conducted criminal investigations involving counterfeiting, identification fraud, odometer fraud and employee theft. Operated in an undercover capacity targeting unlicensed dealer activity. Worked with allied law enforcement agencies focusing on fraudulent California ID’s/Driver’s Licenses being used in nightclubs and bars. Testified in criminal and administrative proceedings, wrote and executed search warrants, wrote reports and made arrests.

Food and Drug Investigator, California Department of Health Services, Food and Drug Branch, San Diego, CA May 1997 – May 2000

Conducted unannounced inspections of wholesale manufacturers of foods, drugs and medical devices ensuring compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices. Performed investigations into the manufacture/sale of fraudulent drugs and medical devices. Was solely responsible for the inspection of all water bottlers and retail water stores in San Diego and Imperial Counties. Reviewed mandated weekly coliform reports and followed up where necessary. Placed embargoes on adulterated product and sampled when necessary. Conducted quarterly, federally-mandated inspections of seafood wholesalers offering bivalve shellfish. Issued Reports of Observation, wrote reports, testified in criminal and administrative hearings.
