Human Resources
Canada
Dear Human Resources,
I am applying for the position of Engineer In Training. I understand that this job title requires the incumbent to perform and ensure the following jobs and responsibilities are met: to design, develop, build and test products to ensure compliance with the target objectives and to prepare engineering drawings that detail plans and specifications. I am aware that the duties involved and required to meet the function of this position include: to draft engineering drawings and bill of materials and to perform engineering calculations. Based on my background I believe I can meet the objectives of this role.
I am a Mechanical Engineering graduate from the University of Manitoba. I have gained experience with 2D and 3D design work and knowledge in the fundamental principles of project management through my undergraduate studies as a mechanical engineer while at the University of Manitoba. From a project management course as an undergraduate student I studied the 10 knowledge areas of project management which include cost management, risk management and scope management, which are used to control the scope and constrain the tasks of a project. Upon my graduation I filled the role of a plan examiner to review mechanical (HVAC) building plan designs and examine if the national building code standards have been met in the designs. I have experience using design software programs such as AutoCAD, to design the floor plan of a 2 storey building and Solidworks, to model the transmission components of a vehicle.
Thank you and I look forward to meeting with you for an interview.
Sincerely,
Timothy Kyalo
