~ After passing the CPA Exam, I went to work as an assistant controller at Sarco Construction, a multi-state, general contractor and its subsidiaries with annual sales in excess of $40M, whose primary market was high end commercial real estate developments. I maintained all accounting responsibilities including general ledger, payroll, invoice billing and disbursement, reporting and budgeting for several of the organizations. I was responsible for the monthly client invoices utilizing AIA, and all vendor invoicing and change orders. I became responsible for client relations, change order negotiations and cost analysis.

~ Eventually, I joined a regional CPA firm, I continued my emphasis working with many small (<$5M annually) and medium sized ($30M annually) general construction and real estate companies. Those included electrical, plumbing, civil engineering and design as well as many small and medium sized general contractors. Again, I oversaw all accounting activities noted above as well as project management, bank, client and investor relations and tax planning.

~ Finally, as a ERP and financial accounting software implementation consultant for CDK Global (a subsidiary of ADP), I worked with staff and management implementing accounting systems, processes and procedures with agricultural and construction companies across North America.
