Accounts Receivable(AR) for goods and services over a reasonable extended period of time, provided that the terms have been agreed upon.
Accounts Receivable (AR) represents the credit sales of a business, which have not yet been collected from its customers. Companies allow their clients to pay transactions, a customer may receive a small discount for paying the amount due to the company early.
Accounts receivable (AR) are an asset account on the balance sheet that represents money due to a company in the short term.
Accounts receivable are created when a company lets a buyer purchase their goods or services on credit.
Accounts payable are similar to accounts receivable, but instead of money to be received, they are money owed.
The strength of a company’s AR can be analyzed with the accounts receivable turnover ratio or days sales outstanding.
A turnover ratio analysis can be completed to have an expectation of when the AR will actually be received.
Accounts payable (AP) is a current liability that a company received goods or services on credit from vendors. AP is also a department and a job.
While accounts payable (AP) is the amount of money a company owes its vendors, accounts receivable (AR) is the amount of money owed to a company from its customers. AP is a current short-term liability and AR is a current short-term asset.
