FULLVISION INC 316-***-****

SHIPPING, RECEIVING & INVENTORY CONTROLL MANAGER

The GM at FV contacted me to ask if I would return to manage shipping, receiving, and production control.

FV was experiencing costly shipping errors. High-volume customers were getting frustrated. I set up a pre-shipment verification and a staging area so I could sign off on the BOLs before shipping. I collected the data we needed to make the necessary changes to improve shipping accuracy.

The manufacturing manager added inventory control to my responsibilities. Hard count on raw materials, (sheet, plate & tubing) was off by thousands of pounds on flat material and hundreds of feet on tubing when checking inventory. I found the main problem was the Laser nesting on the flat steel coupled with receiving errors, and parts per stick allocated for the tubing.

Some laser jobs were off as much as 1500 lbs. per work order. I made the necessary changes to SYSPRO, our operating system.

All areas of my responsibility improved considerably. Then in August 2023, we had a critical drop in sales FV laid off nearly our employees including me.

OCT 1993 – MAY 2020, NEWTON KANSAS

FULLVISION INC 316-***-****

2ND SHIFT SUPERVISOR, PRODUCTION FOREMAN, PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR,

In 1993 I was hired to bring organization to second shift. My goals were to provide leadership, improve quality and productivity to second shift. I was responsible for fabrication, welding, paint department and assembly. After accomplishing our goals, I was moved to first shift to improve weld quality and paint quality. I reduced weld rejects, almost immediately, by issuing each welder a letter ID stamp. This held each welder accountable for the parts they welded. We added the stamp location on the prints, so everyone knew where to stamp and where to find the stamp.

The paint problems were an easy fix. I trained the parts hangers to be inspectors to stop the rejects from being hung on the line. We gave them better lighting and training to look for rust, pits, weld spatter, and at times missing welds. Paint prep is so important, especially when we only have a three-stage washer system. Soon they put me in charge of all production, both shifts as Production Supervisor. I have been responsible for as many as 50 plus crew members, fab, weld, paint, and assembly. In 2020 I moved from production to Process Improvement. Sales dropped drastically and I was part of a big layoff.

June 1993 – Oct 1993

AGCO Heston KS

PRODUCTION WELDING,

I welded on the small parts line for about 30 days or so, then the foreman moved me to the liquid-tight welding on hydraulic reservoirs. They were having too many leaks getting through to the next operation. I told him I had experience in liquid-tight welding on a product called the Blue Max, so he moved me to the problem area. I was able to give him leak-free weldments from the very start. He put me in for a $ 1.35 increase after my 3 months. The foreman said he was going to get me to the top wage as fast as possible. However, I noticed Full Vision was looking for a second-shift supervisor and decided to apply. FV decided I was a good fit, so I gave my foreman my two weeks' notice.

June 1988 – Oct 1993 Illinois

IME / Super Wheels / Better Built Tanks, Repair liquid fertilizer trucks. Weld Foreman / Production welder / Help set up the Big Ox line for resale and parts and service. I helped prepare the Big Ox line for resale. I run the NC torches, ASME DOT certified to weld over-the-road hazardous waste tanks. The president of the company asked me to set up parts & service in Newton Kansas. It was an opportunity for my family and I to move back to Kansas. My responsibilities were to rebuild Defco and Durco pumps and repair Better Built pumps as well. Rebuild or replace hydraulic cylinders and fix leaks/cracks in 2000-gallon stainless steel pressure tanks. I also repaired fertilizer spreaders in the field so my customers could be up and running when the sun came up.

June 1983 – Oct 1993

Southeast Manufacturing.

PRODUCTION WELDING the Welding Foreman

I welded for 30 days and was promoted to weld foreman when they terminated my foreman. I was there for 10 years until the Bank of Dallas called their note. We set new records for quality and efficiency. There was a rework department for weld when I arrived. I issued identification stamps to my welders to hold them accountable. Retrained some and sent others to the paint line for a while. After 2 months we no longer needed a rework department. They turned that area into a much-needed assembly space.

EDUCATION

I have been in supervision for 30 years, but I would very much appreciate a position as a Mig welder. I have had a good attendance record, and as a supervisor, I understand the importance of not missing work and showing up for work on time. I have experience in MS Word and Excel. I have considerable experience using the SYSPRO operating system.

I am dependable and have a can-do attitude coupled with a desire to learn new things.

I have deep roots as a homeowner of 25 years in Newton Kansas and have been married for 40 years to my lovely wife.
