Centurion Health contracted with Howard Young Department of Correction with the responsibilities of a Substance Use Disorder Counselor coordinating all substance abuse/addiction program activities in the correctional settings, which included providing intake, assessment, treatment planning, group and individual counseling, was working toward attaining a substance use credential Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC).

However, the company lost the contact. As substance abuse treatment specialist furthermore worked with correctional officers, nurses, behavioral clinicians, correctional teachers, and correctional release coordinators as part of the responsibility of operating with correctional officers to keep an eye on patients, reporting any indications of relapse, depression, or anxiety, troublemaking, which could create an unsafe situation for the inmate himself or the inmates around them.

As a treatment specialists must also worked with behavioral clinicians and nurses to coordinate treatment plans for their inmates and make sure they are progressing psychologically.
