2019/10-2022/06 Beijing, China. Spouse of the Ambassador of the Republic of Costa Rica to the People’s Republic of China.

By living in and experiencing China, I have a unique insight into China’s culture, society and Chinese people, as well as a fresh perspective on how different cultures coexist and clash in contemporary China under the context of globalization.

I had also the pleasure of visiting many Business Forums, Export and trade Shows and Fairs, the ideal place to stay up -to-date and getting to know the new settings of a wide range of suppliers.

2017/12-2019/08, Owner of Snakies, Burrito Food Retail Business.

As the primary operator of my business, I was responsible for day to day business operations, oversaw all the supply purchases, cash and credit intakes, processed orders, performed merchandise inventory control, prepared payroll and accounts receivable. Responsible for the business profits. Also, train, motivate, encourage and challenge employees and maintain quality brand image standards as pass evaluations.

• During 1998-2002, the company produced export sales of more than US$102M in housing, information technology and manufactured marine products, surpassing all expectations set by the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador.

• Collaborated with the organization of several ministerial Trade Missions in the countries of Mexico, Argentina, Chile and Brazil in 1998 and 1999 trade missions.

• In charge of identifying international suppliers of fruits and vegetables to be imported into Canada. Preparation of sales forecasts for budgetary purposes and off-season imports not available in North America during the winter season to increase sales levels.

1986/11-1990/12, Sole owner, Sport Center S.A., sports shop, established in Goicoechea, Costa Rica.

• In charge of all activities related to business operations such as hiring, training, supervising, purchasing, keeping inventory up to date and being aware of purchases and prices of each article to stay competitive. I also had constant contact with local sports teams, schools and industries for the sale of uniforms and trophies.

• In charge of the administration and supervision of the plant with more than 45 employees including local sales representatives. I doubled the sales and put the plant into 24 hours operation.

Translator English-Spanish - Spanish-English, having translated many marketing and legal documents for Canadian industries. Also worked as a translator for security companies such as the Canadian Bank Note Company, the Royal Canadian Mint and The Canadian Manufacturing Association where translation was required for the entire Canadian Trade Index from English into Spanish.
