PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

7/2019 to 3/2022 LACASA Assisted Living, Merritt Island, FL.

Worked evenings (2-10 pm) three days a week for approximately 7 months. At that time I requested to go on a per diem basis since we were traveling back to our CT home for the summer, which has since been sold.

4/09 – 10/10 TITUSVILLE TOWERS ASSISTED LIVING, Titusville, FL

Full-time nurse responsible for the care and well-being of 70 assisted living residents, maintaining all physician’s orders and documentation, daily updating, review and printing of our computerized MAR’s. I worked closely with the Home Care ARNP at the VA Clinic in Viera, FL, who regularly gave medical care to our veterans. I visited our resident’s in the hospital and/or nursing homes, and assessed new residents, prior to their admission, for their ability to function well in our assisted living environment.

10/07 – 1/09 BROOKDALE SENIOR LIVING, Titusville, FL

Full-time night nurse responsible for the care of physically and mentally challenged adults in a group home setting. Nine of the residents required medication and nutrition via a g-tube, and many required close monitoring for seizure disorders and behavioral issues. I was Awarded “Employee of the Quarter”, just prior to being laid-off due to over-staffing and budgetary restraints from Corporate Headquarters.

9/06 – 7/07 TITUSVILLE REHAB & NURSING CENTER, Titusville, FL

Evening charge nurse responsible for superior patient care and safety of all residents on the unit. Pass medications in a timely manner, give treatments as required, and chart on Medicare and all other health issues as necessary.

4/06 -7/06 CARETENDERS, Titusville, FL

Clinical Nurse Manager responsible for accepting referrals, scheduling and coordinating disciplines for home visits, documentation of activities during daily visitation by staff, preparing Medicare coding and paperwork necessary for payment, writing doctor's orders as needed for extension of certification periods and ordering medical supplies. I managed the Titusville office for approximately two months prior to the decision to close the office down and combine it with the Palm Bay branch during reorganization of operations. I traveled to Palm Bay for about a month, but the distance was too far to go each day and I resigned.

Day Charge Nurse responsible for superior patient care and safety of all residents on the Alzheimer's unit and sub-acute unit. Daily Medicare charting per State, JCAHO, and Company requirements; Wound Care and IV Therapy Certification. Responsibilities also included Medical Records organization and maintenance, ordering medical supplies, and developing daily report sheets using Microsoft Excel.
