Artech contractor

Working as a Technical Design Lead contractor at Kyndryl IT Infrastructure services supporting AT&T datacenters/ IT operations.

As a TDL I supported the AT&T Datacenter consolidation project which involved moving existing client Enterprise virtual servers from closing datacenters to strategic datacenters. Virtual servers included Apache, RHEL, Websphere, Oracle, SQL and Windows cloud servers were either rebuilt or moved by the Zerto Implementation team after I created a Zerto design. I would gather client requirements and evaluate the client's needs by checking VMware utilization tools on existing servers to ensure that the clients new compute and storage (SAN/ NAS) needs were in line with AT&T enterprise and hybrid cloud design guidelines. I would host client meetings to answer any questions and resolve any issues, create the design and a budget. Once funded I would build the new virtual servers using IBM cloud orchestration tools and turn the servers over to the client for application load and testing. I coordinated various server and storage resources to work the project and maintain MTTI to complete the project on time and under budget. I used various databases to track hardware and software assets and to create server and SAN/NAS storage designs.

05/08/2013-11/02/2018

AT&T Sr. Technical Architect

As a Technical Cloud Account Manager, I would gather client requirements and present the design artifacts to the project stakeholders for approval. I would finalize the project budget then provision production, test and development cloud VM servers using the IBM cloud orchestration tool. I held meetings from project start to lifecycle turnover relaying project status and resolving any issues that arose.

I worked with the DEV OPS team as a cloud VM tester to debug newly written IBM orchestration code and I would report back any issues to the team for resolution and retest. Duties also include TSA (Technical solutions architect) coordinating design, specification, budgets and integration of total systems and subsystems for bare metal deployments of Windows, Linux, UNIX, VMware, Oracle RAC and Hadoop platforms. Assesses (proof of concept) and recommends solutions

(algorithms and products) to improve the current systems. Designs, develops, documents and analyzes technology systems, maximizing reuse of target state platforms such as API, data fabric, or data routers platforms. Engineers integrated hardware and software solutions that meet performance, usability, scalability, reliability, and security needs.

I created and monitored Remedy change/trouble management system tickets for the Enterprise and Managed Services platform projects.

AT&T Technical Architect

I was part of a team to select a datacenter for Managed Services project expansion. Duties included designing and tracking projects to stand up all server, network, SAN, firewall, load balancer and DR platforms using various databases to track inventory, HW/SW asset management, procurement and creating design and internal process artifacts.

SW products used: Excel, Outlook, Visio Pro, Word, Powerpoint, MS Project Accomplishments: In 2010 I was part of a team to open a new Managed Services datacenter in San Diego. Responsible for creating and documenting a hybrid process that would allow AT&T Enterprise and AT&T Managed Services to complete assigned tasks to implement the following: environment-power/ space, server installs, SAN, Disaster recovery, network switch’s, firewalls, appliances and WAN/VLAN connectivity. After the first year of 150 server installs, I was able to reduce MTTI from 6 months to 4 months at a savings of $1000 per server for a total savings of $150,000.00 per year. A new DR deployment including replication site would normally take 12-14 months to implement using an Enterprise DR project manager. I did not have a DR project manager and was able to implement DR in San Diego and the replication site in Hayward CA in 10 months. I saved $300,000.00 by repurposing a spare Data Domain 690 rather than buying a new DD690 for the replication site. 06/2004-05/2010

AT&T Enterprise Architect

Project manager for Managed Services data centers. I assembled teams and coordinated workloads to install and turn up Solaris and Windows midrange and X86 servers with high quality process and low MTTI. Duties included securing funding, ordering, tracking HW/SW assets and coordinating install to Lifecycle phases.
