A tier three automotive supplier involved in the manufacture of fractional horse power DC motors (used in power seats).

Von Weise was a metal stamping, fractional horsepower DC motor, and starter motor supplier. Von Weise provided product to small engine manufactures and automotive industry throughout the world.

A product Engineer was charged with designing EMC/RFI (Electromagnetic Compliance / Radio Frequency Interference) circuitry to comply with automotive customer specifications. I worked with suppliers when specifying new discrete components for circuits. I assisted manufacturing with assembly of circuits and brush cards. I assisted the testing technicians when testing and validation was required. Responsibilities grew to include brush card, circuit board, and Hall Effect circuit design. Two of my designs were considered innovative enough to have patents applied for.

•Design and implementation of automotive EMC/RFI circuitry utilizing AutoCAD ver.14, prototyping and PPAP building.

•Design and implementation of automotive Hall Effect device seat memory circuitry.

•Design and assembly of prototype two (2) sided and multilayer (4 layer) circuit boards utilized in EMC/RFI, Hall Effect, and motor brush card circuitry utilizing both thru-hole and surface mount technology (ROHS Compliance, restriction of hazardous substances, reliability & EMC testing/compliance per automotive standards).

•Very proficient in product compliance with automotive EMC/RFI standards (GM3100, GM9100, CISPR-25, Ford, Chrysler, European, & UL)

•Developed new ways of packing motors for installation in seat assemblies innovative enough to have a patented applied for.

•Developed new brush card assembly utilizing both surface mount and leaded components (mixed mode), considered innovative enough to have patent applied for.
