Vehicle Impact Testing Support Technician
Installed experimental parts, including Fuel Systems, Restraints, and Air Bags onto vehicles for Ford Crash Safety Development.
Prepared vehicles for testing by draining all fluids, painting components contrasting colors, aligning wheels, and installing auxiliary braking systems.
Installed and checked for functionality using accelerometers, break wires and string pots that were inaccessible after vehicles were completely built. Installed any necessary racks for cameras, test instrumentation and equipment. Weighed vehicles when built and then added or stripped weight to bring vehicles to the desired test weight on each axle.
Reverse engineered competitor vehicles that were crash tested for competitor benchmarking.
