Dec/20 to Apr/24 – Grupo Sengés

Chief Executive Officer

Paulo was the CEO of Grupo Sengés, which is a leading Brazilian paper and pulp conglomerate based in the States of São Paulo and Paraná. Grupo Sengés has five main legal operating entities

(paper production, timberland/forestry, production of packages, generation of energy and logistics), and employs approximately 1,000 people and revenues in excess of US$ 150 million).

Grupo Sengés also owns numerous farms committed to the production of pine and eucalyptus

(ca. 60 thousand acres) used to supply its internal demand for raw materials, as well as commercialization to third parties.

Paulo worked closely to the shareholders at the main facilities in São Paulo and Paraná, where he oversaw administrative operations and sales office activities, as well as actively discussed strategic aspects of the operations.

In addition to leading several functional areas, Paulo was the focus point for professional services providers like financial institutions, legal advisors, strategic business partners, suppliers and other relevant stakeholders, as well as the oversight of daily activities ensuring that the companies’ strategic needs were taken into consideration on all major discussions and business actions.

Chief Financial Officer – CFO

Conducted the operational and financial restructuring of the Group, rightsizing staff, renegotiating and/or terminating non-profitable contracts, fostering significant development in the treasury and billing processes, which resulted in the reversal of monthly financial losses and doubled positive EBITDA margins in less than 12 months (from -2% for 6% in the period).

Managed all administrative and financial functions as Group’s CFO, including: controllership, budgeting, accounting, HR, Tax, IT, internal controls and compliance.
