STAFF MIDWIFE:

Working in busy maternity unit supporting and assisting women through childbirth. Providing specialist expertise to mother in antenatal and post-natal period, delivering quality based care with in a hospital and community services. DUTIES:

· Identify high risk pregnancy and made referral to doctor and other medical specialist.

· Arranged and provided parenting and health education for the women.

· Supervised and assisted mother in labor pain management.

· Resposible for assessing planning and implementing Midwifery Care

· Involved in the development of the maternity service.

· Communicating effectively and sympathy with the mother relative.

· Ensuring high standard of clinical care maintained.

· Involved in neonatal resuscitation, suturing and taking blood.

· Involved in developing guidelines and policies.

· Working in the special care baby unit facility.

· Make sure all medical equipment is safe to use and proper maintained keeping paper and computerized medical record accurate and up to date.

· Acting as the mother promoting their own health and well being.

· Examine and monitored pregnant women

· Prenatal check-up.

· Intravenous insertion

· Refering client to other practitioner Senior Midwife, Obstetrician and Pediatrician KEY SKILL AND COMPETENCE:

· Remaining calm and dealing with potentially life-threatening emergency situation

· Knowledge of neonatl resuscitation
