In reference to the medical field, I have 10 plus years of lab experience as a Certified Phlebotomist, an area in which I am very knowledgeable, skilled and experienced, as well as my M.A. Certification, which has allowed me opportunities to train, work and gain the experience of working the different positions in relation to a physician office in various field specialities. I was a shift supervisor/ sales associate in the Fine China department. Perform venipuncture on patients ranging from infants to geriatric, performed DOT and non DOT drug screens and collected samples for DNA testing, which was either performed through venipuncture or a buccal swab collection, conducted alcohol testing utilizing ALCO saliva strips. I successfully supervised and maintained the lab in Metairie, which led to me to receive a promotion to Team Leader, in which I oversaw 12 other Phlebotomists and the accounts they were assigned to. I was also required to resolve any accounts receivable issues related to patient billing, supply issues and insurance claims, insurance claim denials in reference to each account I oversaw, posted daily collections for all PSC drawing sites in Metro/New Orleans and Northshore locations, also, any issues that occurred with collected specimens occurring within that account, which I successfully resolved in an appropriate time frame.
