Financial Planning Analyst

Responsible for financial reporting, tracking and analysis for the distribution centers. Partner with corporate management with annual budgeting and reforecasting. Develop annual, monthly and weekly financial plans based on operational plans. Work with vendors for the Visalia distribution center reconciling invoices and payments. Prepare month end journal entries. Review and analyze annual compensation for both salary and hourly employees. Ensure that accounting policies and procedures are followed. Provide guidance to management, when needed.

1997 – 10/2000 – Apio, Inc., Reedley, CA (Company relocated operations)

Credit Manager

Responsible for administration of the credit operations, produce payables and PACA requirements. Formulated general credit policies and procedures governing the credit operations. This included the judicious granting of credit and maintaining efficient collection practices. Approved and reconciled product payable. Partnered with management to ensure that the company was in compliance with PACA and produce grower notifications.

Oversee staff of wholesale credit and collection personnel. Responsible for pipeline movements of fuel products, securing with Letters of Credit and Guaranties and follow through for on-time payment. Analyzed financial statement and approved wholesale customer credit line and franchise service station real estate financing. Reduced company DSO from 20 days to 9 days. Designed and implemented a Service Station Fuel Order Entry System which resulted in an annual cost savings of $40K. Designed and implemented a system for approval of pipeline movement sales. 1995-1997 (long Beach office) assisted with the merger between Ultramar and Diamond Shamrock. (Company is now owned by Valero)
