Process Controller: Jubilee Metals Group Ndola Zambia Overall Job Purpose

Monitor various sections of the production line from the Central Control Room

(CCR) to ensure precision and adherence to standards in the concentrate production process.

Provide relevant information and direction to Plant Operators and Attendants in the production line based on monitored operations in liaison with the Shift Coordinators.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Control or operate systems of machines using the SCADA system.

Assist in implementing company’s approved production plan.

Monitor and control all sections of the plant process lines to ensure stable equipment operation employee safety and compliance with prescribed standards and environmental regulations.

Log in process data at specified intervals; document and report operational activities accordingly.

Ensure smooth operation of the parameters by providing constant feedback and relevant guidance to Shift Coordinators, Engineers, Plant Attendants and Operators in the execution of field work.

Diagnose and troubleshoot potential operating problems, either in consultation with Shift Coordinators, Engineers and the Section Head or independently when immediate action is necessary to ensure production resumes.

Continuously review the plant automation system and make recommendations for improvement based on leading practices.

Perform any other duties assigned by the Shift Coordinator.

Process Controller: First Quantum Minerals- Kansanshi Mining Plc Solwezi Key Duties and Responsibilities

To adhere to all relevant requirements, policies, procedures and legal regulations pertaining to health, safety, environment and quality, as well as finance, human resources, and any other regulations as required by the company and relevant to the level of the role and responsibilities of the function

Control or operate systems of machines using the SCADA system in a large concentrator plant covering crushing, milling (SAG mills), flotation and dewatering sections.

Monitor Process Units and advise deviations in order to meet production targets and maintain acceptable Copper Cathode Quality Regulate or shut down equipment during emergency situations as directed by the Shift Controller, Operations Overseer and as per prevailing circumstances.

Confer with Technical and Supervisory personnel to report or resolve conditions affecting safety, efficiency and product quality.

Notifying maintenance and other auxiliary personnel to correct equipment malfunctions.

Monitor and adjust process performance to achieve quality control parameters that will assist to meet production targets in a safe manner.

Maintain communications as required with relevant operators and maintenance personnel in the field.

Record all and every operating specification and changes as required by the Supervision.

Record shift readings and provide a shift report as requested.

Actively participate in all departmental activities, including skills training, shift handover communications, toolbox meetings, safety KPI’s activities and any other activities as requested by the Supervisor.

Record all problems encountered during the shift, changes in parameters made, record all measures that have been undertaken and pass on to the incoming shift.

Maintain an understanding of hourly, daily and monthly production targets and progress.

Maintain proper and detailed log book entries.

Be proactive in looking for circuit problems and report any sub-standard conditions to the Supervisor in a timely fashion.

Provide training and development opportunities for all direct reports on an on- going basis.

Shift Controller: First Quantum Minerals - Kansanshi Mining Plc Solwezi

Supervise operators in the process areas of the Hydrometallurgical Plant and ensure that all safe work procedures are observed. Comply with all aspects of Regulation 214 of the Mining Regulations of Zambia.

Undertake regular inspections of all plant areas of responsibility eliminate or control detected hazards, ensure compliance with safe operating procedures and conduct regular toolbox/safety meetings with crews.

Supervise personnel in accordance with established policies.

Ensure that faults and breakdowns are assessed quickly and that a maintenance response is initiated. Raise required work orders. Ensure that all isolations and safe work systems are applied consistently and efficiently.

Take an active role in the training and development of all staff members in the section.

Actively participate in daily operational and maintenance planning.

Ensure all area log sheets and daily reports are maintained in a timely quality fashion.

Actively participate in all departmental activities including skills training, shift handover communications, toolbox meetings, safety KPI’s and any other activities as required by the Supervisor.
