• Perform Battery Electric vehicles safety analysis.

• Perform vehicle crash load cases, Oblique Side Pole, Curb Drop, Abuse Jacking.

• Analyze battery pack, module level load cases: all kinds.of mechanical shocks to check battery cell and structural integrity: cell compression, explosion, leaking of electrolytes.

Senior CAE Engineer for BIW Safety, GM Warren

6/2003-8/2018

• Perform FMVSS 207/210/225/216 analysis.

• Define material failure criteria via testing and analysis.

• Define spot weld failure mechanism for various materials

• Define windshield glass failure model for roof crush.

LMS/FMON, LMS/MODAL,

SDRC/TEST

CAE Engineer for Closures, GM, Warren

1/1999-6/2003

Perform stiffness, durability, drop silo analysis for decklids, door, hood C-TAD SYSTEM INC, ANN ARBOR, MI 9/97 – 3/99

Software Engineer

Designed and developed GEO graphic modules using C, UNIX, NT; Translate CAD systems such as PDGS, Catia, PROE, SDRC, GEO, IGES, LOOKIN, TDEX. Improved the algorithm for dropping points to surfaces.

GENERAL MOTOR, WARREN AND MILFORD GM TECH CENTER,

MI 1/96 – 9/97

Integration(Simulation and Test) Engineer

Supported portfolio in vehicle benchmarking and energy management Developed formulas for the accurate estimation of 0-60 mph performance, fuel economy using vehicle attributes, such as, weight, horsepower, etc..

Supported and maintain the dynamic simulation package: OVERDRIVE.

Supported Truck development engineers, Conduct vibration test

Performed Mobility Measurement and analysis using driving point FRF

Designed the test procedures and derived a formula to obtain dynamic stiffness of rubber mounts under operating conditions indirectly using FRF data measured with the rubber mounts in a vehicle. Tested a variety of mounts and bushings using this procedure.

.

UNIVERSITY OF CINCINNATI, CINCINNATI, OHIO,

9/90-12/95

Research Assistant

Performed the finite element analysis modeling and modal test on two Highway bridges, 1 building, under ODOT project to conduct the nondestructive evaluation. Achieved excellent test/analysis correlation is obtained. The maximum frequency error of the updated model is 6% for 18 modes with MAC values close to 1.0 for all modes. Wrote a MATLAB program with functions of finite element modeling, model reduction, analysis/test correlation and optimization.

JILIN UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY, CHINA,

9/84-9/90

Research Engineer

Conducted research on vehicle development for First Motor in China. Wrote research proposals; Interacted with industry clients. Developed a money-saving method to aid design cycle using perturbation method. Designed an automobile frame CA141 using this method for the First Motor of China. Obtained desired dynamic characteristics. Designed the procedures to predict dynamic characteristics of a rocket after it was launched based on its ground test for Aeronautics and Aerospace Institute of China.\ In charge of a project - supported by Natural Science Foundation of China: the Random Vibration Analysis of Structures with Uncertain Properties. Quantified the effect of manufacture error on the dynamic characteristics of complex structures. Worked on a project: Perturbation Analysis of Structures with Repeated Eigenvalues supported by Chinese Natural Science Foundation.
