THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio, TX January 1991 to December 2014 Director of Community Relations (Aug. 1993–Dec. 2014) Led the design, development, and dissemination of marketing materials that informed the student body, prospective students, and staff of campus programs and locations to boost enrollment. Collaborated with local school counselors to help promote university schools to graduating high schoolers. Managed the creation and launch of digital communications such as new websites, E-newsletters, and social media pages. Planned logistics for outreach events that brought together politicians, legislators, and community organizations. Interviewed all members of the former Bexar County delegation to accurately chronicle the develop of the university’s downtown campus. Key Achievements:

“Creating Public Policy for Minority Access to Higher Education: A Case Study,” was published in 2007.

Served as the staff chair to the University of Texas at San Antonio Development Committee that raised $1M in scholarship funds for the students attending the Downtown Campus ($500,000 above goal). Director of Hispanic Mother Daughter Program (Jan. 1991–Aug. 1993) Managed the initial startup and ongoing maintenance of a program attempting to prevent female Hispanic high school students from dropping out of school. Recruited students from area school districts to enroll in the program. Created a detailed curriculum comprised of workshop, seminar, and presentation materials made by Hispanic professionals that gave the students insight into specific college majors. Met with students to understand their academic goals and advised them on an educational roadmap to them attain their objectives. Key Achievement:

Provided mothers with the resources needed for them to attain their own GED. CARLSBAD CITY LIBRARY – Carlsbad, CA August 1990 to January 1991 Community Relations Manager

Wrote a variety of public relations materials, including reports, speeches, announcements, and press releases to grow awareness to the events and services held at the city library. Pioneered the “Survival Spanish” course to library personnel for better one-on-one engagement with visitors. Researched how to transform Carlsbad into the “Centro de Informacion” for the local Spanish-speaking population, launching the Neighborhood Information Center one year later. Key Achievement:
