Work Experience

Medical Biller

APEX - Dearborn, MI

March 2022 to December 2023

I was responsible for calling insurance companies and standing firm on our price, no negotiations. Then billing the insurance companies as well as sending patients/customers their invoices and possible co- pays.

I left because I was not being paid enough. $13.00 9-6 pm., 5 days a week. That's barley over minimum wage. So I am now looking for something that pays more, because I know my worth. In Home Caregiver

Medicaid Healthcare - Molina Healthcare Plan - Canton, MI November 2020 to September 2021

I was actually a In home care giver through Molina Healthcare, for a good friend of mine, of 6 years, his name was Faisal Rasheed. Faisal Rasheed, suddenly and shockingly had not ONE but TWO strokes! My youngest sibling who is 8 years my junior, also had a stroke at birth. So, I just naturally knew how to care for my friend and teach him little tips and tricks, to make certain things easier for him to do on his own. From learning how to help my youngest sister (who was paralyzed on her left side - she eventually learned to walk but her left hand is still completely paralyzed today, 29 years later.) I came over to visit my friend, and I was showing him and his family just a few little things that would make Faisal feel more independent by being able to do certain things, as simple as buying flip cap open toothpaste, a loofa with a long back washing stick on the loofa, ECT. Faisal Rasheed and his family both found this to be impressive. Faisal was living by himself in a condo and his siblings would have to come over daily to feed him make sure he takes his medication, washes laundry, dishes, bedding, ECT. His three siblings all had families of their own and working jobs. They would take turns but it was becoming overwhelming on everybody. So seeing that I knew a lot about how to care for a stroke victim and that I was not working at the time and I could bring my two children with me they asked me if I wanted the job of being his in- home caregiver and I said absolutely. I would go over Facials home 5 days a week, I would prep all of his food for the week. I would help him take a shower and then I would help dress him. I would wash and change his bedding once a week. I would wash any dishes in the sink daily. I would wash his laundry about every 3 to 4 days. I made all of his Dr. appointments, therapy sessions, and physical therapy appointments. Followed by then setting up his medical transportation to get him to and from his appts. They'd also stop at the pharmacy (if necessary) to get any prescriptions he might need filled that day and back home. I would give him his correct doses, at each specific time of day, depending on the medication instructions. I would keep a log of the date, time, and dosage of each individual medication, daily. I took him on walks to the park (in his wheelchair.) He just adored my youngest daughter (she was not even 1 yet) she definitely gave him a reason to smile and love every single day. I'd also do his shopping, as far toiletries, hygiene products and groceries. I eventually helped him learn how independently shower on all on his own, again. That took a little longer and was pretty frustrating for him, and it was probably a little uncomfortable for him BUT we got through it! I was very proud of him, and very happy I was such a big help to him and his family. I would also try to get him to do his at home physical therapy, which I also did with my sister. I never had thought about it prior, it was just a way of life for me growing up with my disabled sister, who sadly hasn't been as fortunate as my friend Faisal in making major strides in a such a short amount of time, in a lot of areas. My sister can do a lot of things he can't as well, as he could do a lot of things she never will be able to do, mentally. My sister would actually come with me to visit him, to show him some more little tricks and tips with them both only having the ability to use both their right arm and hand. It definitely made me feel good inside to be able to help in any way even the tiniest things. Eventually though, his family decided to put him into assisted living, my assistance was no longer needed. Sadly and unfortunately, my friend Faisal Rasheed ended up passing away soon after. He was very depressed. He was ALWAYS so independent and so motivated in life and after his two strokes, and not being able to drive, work, ect, and then being forced to go live in assisted living that was far away from most of his friends and family, only made him more depressed. So my job as a In home caregiver came to an end September of 2021.

Independent Business Owner/Operator

Maha's Housekeeping Services - Westland, MI

January 2016 to February 2020

Self employed Housekeeping Business owner/Operator. My responsibilities were to answer phone calls, set up customers accounts, by taking their personal information, payment method, and setting up their next housekeeping services appointment. I was responsible for reporting all income as well as all outgoing payments, for things such as, employee payroll, taxes, supplies needed for housekeeping, as well as office supplies. I would keep track of inventory, schedule employee work week and hours. I would do some housekeeping in my customers homes, as well. My business came to an end at the end of February, 2020. When the corona virus made it's debut here in Michigan. The entire state of Michigan was put on lock down shortly after that, causing my business not to have any income, coming in to stay open for business. I was also 5 months pregnant and my OBGYN decided it was best that I be put on bed rest for the remainder of my pregnancy, which was May, 27, 2020. COVID restrictions were still on high alert. I could have no one in the hospital with me during the delivery of my new baby girl. I could have no visitors, I could not even walk down the hall, afternoon just having an emergency c-section which normally is required that you walk, because it is an extremely painful surgery. The more you get up and walk the less it starts to hurt, you have to keep your muscles moving, which I was unable to do. Then I had two children at home to take care of, a new born and a 9 year old. My 9 year olds school was closed due to covid-19 and was having to do her school work online from home. I fortunately was able to collect unemployment, and spend time at home with my new born, and my 9 year old. So I wouldn't have had time to even work at that point if I wanted to or was able to, unless I were to hire a nanny and tutor for my 9 year old. I just felt being a stay at home mother for a short period of time was in the best interest of my children and I. The many reasons I felt it was in the best interest of my family was for the safety of our health first and foremost, getting that one-on-one time, skin to skin contact, and breastfeeding my newborn, and also being able to show my 9-year-old the same amount of attention and her not feeling like she's been replaced or left out because of the age gap between my two children of nine years. You can never get that time back and those are some of the most important months / years between a mother and a child. Part-Time Manager, Hostess, Cashier, and Head Server. Big Boys Restaurant - Livonia, MI

May 2003 to December 2012

I was a Part-Time night shift manager, head server on days that, I wasn't managing. I was also a hostess, and cashier.Inwas employed at Big Boys Restaurants from 2003:through 2012. I was transferred to many different locations, such as: The Westland location, The Romulus/Airport location, the Livonia location and lastly to the Canton location. On September 22nd, 2011, I had gave birth to my oldest/first daughter. I had been fortune enough to be able to be a stay at home mom for the 5 months before returning to work Unfortunately, the Canton location I was working at, at that specific time, the owner decided to sell the building in January of 2012. My responsibilities working at Big Boys Restaurants as a manager was to take inventory, order any food and supplies we were running low in stock on. Manage the servers, and chefs. There were plenty of times I'd have to jump on the line and help cook when we'd get extremely busy. I would have to do payroll, count the drawer every night, lock the money into the sage and make a drawer for the morning shift. Check all servers side work, and make sure it was done correctly. Then tell the servers when they were off. I would go around to customers tables and make sure their service and food was good or not and if not I would make sure they left happy rather it was taking a certain item off of their bill, sometimes having to comp their entire bill, or giving them a gift card for the next time they come in. I'd have to close the restaurant by setting all alarms and lock up the restaurant. As a Head server I would have to make sure all of the other servers were on task and if they were a little behind I would always help them. I would have to assign all servers there side/clean up work done after at the end of their shift. As well, as polishing and rolling a total of 100 silverware. I would make the daily servers section/tables chart. I would have to wait on tables, take customers orders, put them into the computer, I was responsible for getting the customers drinks, making all homemade shakes, and salads, deliver to customers table, keep drinks refilled, extra napkins, dressing, plates, ECT. Then sever them their meals they ordered, check back make sure everything was as good as expected to be? Pre-bus all my tables, recommended dessert after they were done with their meals. I'd have to personally make.all deserts, then serve them. Print out their bill, check back make sure their deserts were good, and if they needed any to go boxes or anything else? Then I would place the bill face down on their table, offer not take it up for them if they wanted. Then bus and clean the entire table after each customer left. I would have side work of my own at the end of the night as well. I would close with the manager every night that I serving. After the restaurant was sold, and I was them unemployed, and had a 1 year old daughter, I was fortunate enough to be scheduled stay.at home mom until my oldest daughter started preschool in 2014. Pharmacy Technician

CVS Pharmacy Technician for CVS Pharmacy - Belleville, MI September 2007 to October 2008

As a Pharmacy technician I would answer phones, taking perscription call ins for refills, patients personal info, such as name, DOB, address, phone number, and type of insurance and insurance ID number. Put all info into computer, print out label for perscription bottle/box, followed by printing out the paperwork/info for what the perscriptions specifically call for as well as the information attached ( stapled ) to the bag that the prescriptions are put in for patient pick up. I'd then fill each individual prescription by measuring/ counting each and every prescription twice and then give it to the pharmatist to triple check and then I'd put all prescriptions that were ready for pick up into the computer, as well as make phone calls to customers letting them know their prescription(s) were ready for pick up. I'd also cash patients out at the register, depending on their insurance, and if there's a co-pay or not. Followed by version important information about all important information and warnings about medication the patient is picking up. Ask patient/customer if they have any other questions or concerns. I REALLY enjoyed my time as a pharmacy technician. I'd absolutely LOVE the opportunity to work in this position again. Education
