Professional Experience

Senior Level IT Program Manager - General Motors, Warren, MI March 2019 – June 2023

Global Program Manager and single point of contact to install, replace, and upgrade network and infrastructure circuits.

•Exceeded management expectations by reducing corporate infrastructure costs by over 42% by managing, monitoring, and coordinating purchasing, installing, and upgrading dual DIA circuits at 208 corporate sites worldwide over 20 months.

•Drove and monitored the procurement, installation, and UAT of global new / upgraded networks, Cisco switches, and routers.

•Worked closely with all teams developing budgets, timing, site contact, and site access, as well as coordinating third-party contract services from multiple vendors to assist in the upgrade and installation of circuits routers, and switches to provide faster, cheaper, redundant dual networks at all global sites via cross-functional teams.

•Worked hand in hand with the GM WAN Service Managers to review RFP from ISPs and LECs to develop and maintain the circuit rollout and turn-up plan for all sites including NTT, Lumen, and Comcast.

•Coordinate activities for the replacement of all data center and plant floor switches and routers with Cisco (9200, 9300 & 9500) at five (5) Michigan Manufacturing sites (LGR, LRS/LDT, Flint Metal, Engine, and Assembly). Due to the chip shortage, and HW delays this was an extremely challenging assignment. As a result, I had to work hand in hand with NTT and Cisco to get as much HW delivered as soon as possible then allocate and configure the HW to a site ready with change management windows and local site support.

•Project Manager for the newly formed Connected Vehicle technology program. Managed and tracked the global network engineering team, chip manufacturers, and OEMs along with several European ISPs to develop and beta test a yet-to-be-released version of OnStar technology. Our engineers in Europe developed a mobile test bench to test and validate the chip from ports through several European countries to validate functionality and the ability to jump from ISP to ISP with no loss of service.

Technical Project Manager / IT Program Manager - General Motors, Warren, MI March 2016 - March 2019

Worked closely with business partners and IT Governance to review user needs, and apply a disciplined approach to develop requirements, plans, budgets, schedules, resource management, and risk profiles.

•Facilitate and manage project scope and the group’s overall business process helping shape/understand and prioritize key business outcomes and coordinate internal resources and project assignments.

•Provide leadership and manage projects and programs including financial, quality, resource management, and system development from inception to launch.

•Worked diligently with stakeholder and software engineering teams and responded to requests to validate technical specifications, Sprint planning, test plans, and all required project documentation.

•Managed several IT projects through the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC for Agile Methodology and Waterfall). The projects include but are not limited to, SW and website development, Mobile apps, SharePoint, and various infrastructure components. Projects ranged up to 3 years with budgets well over $15M.

•Rose through technical leadership roles to single-handedly manage all IT operations, resources, personnel, and process development supporting a 2 million sq. ft. sheet metal stamping and manufacturing facility with over 1800 users and 5000 IT assets.

•Delivered a 15% decrease in the number of IT assets which generated 6-figure cost savings while setting benchmarks for other GM manufacturing sites across North America.
