Professional Experience

1. Program Coordinator at BENIMPUHWE Organization, Cyivugiza, Nyamirambo, KN 241 St 20 Nyarugenge, Kigali-Rwanda. Website: www.benimpuhwe.org, (2015- 2020).

- Coordinate the ongoing projects;

- Responsible for the overall integrity and coherence of the program;

PROJECTS UNDER MY COORDINATION:

A. HUGUKA DUKORE AKAZI KANOZE YOUTH EMPLOYMENT PROJECT: A USAID-funded project. Our areas of intervention are Nyarugenge, Kirehe and Bugesera Districts. It was implemented in partnership with EDC (Education Development Center, Inc.). USAID Huguka Dukore offers multiple program pathways including: i) employment preparation (work readiness); ii) Individual and cooperative youth microenterprise start-up; iii) business development for existing Microenterprises; and iv) continuation to additional formal Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) training, v) Continuous Youth Leadership and Accompaniment. Review & compile Field Officers’ reports and submit monthly technical reports to EDC; Entrusted with coordination and representation of USAID HDAK project activities both in Nyarugenge and Kirehe districts as a Lead Implementing Partner, work closely with Youth Coordinators, District Education Officers and BDE unit at district level;

In charge of the establishment of Youth Development Alliance (YDA) both in Nyarugenge and Kirehe. YDA is a new model initiated by EDC aimed at bringing together all the actors whose interventions are geared towards youth empowerment & development.

B. RUNGANO-NDOTA PROGRAM:

Program implemented in Ruhango District; The program’s deliverables are: a) Mentorship by “Near Peer” Leadership Team, b) Community Service, c) Income and Livelihood, d) Shared commitment and e) Experiential Leadership Development.

Ensure entrepreneurship trainings are well conducted; Conduct a follow up when trainings are completed to ensure formed cooperatives are operational and provide support where needed;

Conduct a follow-up on mentorship of young graduates, conduct accompaniment until they transit to jobs. C. APPUI A LA SCOLARISATION DES ENFANTS ET JEUNES PROVENANT DES FAMILLES PAUVRES:

Project conducted in partnership with ADPM (Action Développement Parrainages Mondiaux). The project aims at finding scholarship to vulnerable children

Identify and select youth in need;

Advocate for vulnerable children to find sponsors here referred to as ‘godfathers’; Conduct regular meetings with School Managers to track the progress, performance of youth beneficiaries; D. IMPLEMENTATION OF UNSCR 1325 and CEDAW

Funded by the Global Network of Women Peacebuilders (GNWP), the project aimed to enhance the synergy between the government of Rwanda and civil society organizations in the implementation and monitoring of Convention on Elimination of all forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) and UNSCR 1325 on WPS and strengthen accountability for compliance of international law, strengthen the knowledge and skills of Rwanda government and civil society representatives to adopt a more integrative approach to the implementation of CEDAW and WPS and Rwanda’s understanding of international obligation, provide an opportunity for the civil society to provide concrete inputs into Rwanda’s State Party report to CEDAW and develop a roadmap for future civil society engagement in the implementation and monitoring of WPS and CEDAW commitments. E. USAID Umurimo Kuri Bose (USAID UKB):

The Umurimo Kuri Bose (UKB) is a 2-year (January 2021 - December 2022) USAID funded Project that will provide 1,560 youth with employability skills, focusing on youth with disabilities in 12 districts of Rwanda. A subset of youth without disabilities (360) will be included to promote an inclusive learning environment and to mitigate stigma against people with disabilities.

Dismantle ableism narrative among employers by organizing and conducting disability mainstreaming trainings; Conduct disability awareness campaigns and community dialogue with local population to raise awareness on disability;

Promote employment among people with disability by equipping them with job ready skills and technical trainings and identify potential employers and link youth to them for employment; F. INTEGRATED FOOD AND FODDER HYDROPONICS TECHNOLOGIES FOR PRODUCTION FOR SUSTAINABLE URBAN FOOD PRODUCTION IN NYAMATA AND RILIMA SECTORS Funded by UNDP, the goal of the project is to establish well-equipped demonstration sites in 3 schools, 1 farm sites to conduct an expanded solar pilot of the single-family home sized aquaponics system and a huge single solar supported farm hydroponics system.

Project activities are listed below:

Mobilize Resources for the project both Human and financial; Entrepreneurial skills and access to finance;

Construction and establishment of the demonstration Plant and training facilities; Conduct several trainings and workshops;

Constructed and established 3 school and 1 farm sites with demonstration plant and training facilities, conducted training and workshops for staff and local community, creating awareness and disseminated information to the local community, and replicated and scaled up project proponents further to other parts of the district and country. USAID Huguka Dukore Akazi Kanoze project (USAID HDAK) district coordinator in Nyarugenge and Kirehe districts;

Child protection focal point at BENIMPUHWE ORGANIZATION; BENIMPUHWE focal point at the Rwanda MenEngage Network; Focal person at district level in matters related to USAID HDAK project implementation; Hold meetings with JADF officers and other district staff to find sustainable solutions to challenges that arise and organize participation to JADF Open days, etc.

Organizer and coordinator of the Youth Regional Training of Trainers on peace building and security in advancing the Youth for Peace and Security (YPS) and Women for Peace and Security (WPS) agendas; Coordination of the Local Labor Market Assessment (LLMA) in Nyarugenge and Kirehe districts; aimed at understanding unavoidable market trends in the aim to inform the design of the package needed for the youth to meet the demand;

Coordination of the research on the UNSCR 1325, 2025 implementation in the Great Lakes Region; Education and Qualifications
