Duties, Accomplishments and Related Skills: Provide prompt, ethical, competent and compassionate care to government employees in an occupational health setting while staying withing Federal occupational health guidelines (FOH). As a Nurse Coordinator I oversee the day-to-day operation and function of the health center and attend organizational meetings report to the assistant clinical manager.
PATIENT CARE: Provide walk in care as well as appoinment physicals and routine care to federal employees from all agencies of government contracted with FOH. First aid and emergency care as needs arise in the government building to staff and visitors. Provide educational seminars as requested and routine immunization clinics as well as pre deployment immunizations as needed for staff before leaving the country. Promote opitomal health and wellness. I manage and monitor medical records and storage of information while maintaining PII per federal hippa privacy laws. Ensure all care is entered into electronic medical charting per FOH policy and procedure.
OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY:Monitor and assess environmental hazards, fit test for safety equipement including n95 and repirators.Oversee mandatory drug screening. Ensure proper use of safety equipement and personal protective equipement and immunizations as well as handwashing is used and understood. I also make sure employees are fit for duty working closely with onsite physician and within FOH protocols and my scope of practice. I am knowledgable in epidemiology and workplace safety.
COMPLIANCE:Report to area clinical manager and onsite physician. Maintain patient privacy per federal hippa privacy laws.Follow foh protocol as well as state and federal law regarding patient care and nurse practice act. Follow OSHA and general standards of care while providing the best care for the client.
ADVOCACY: Provide the best overal care for the patient ensuring all services are delivered and recorded, coordinated, evaluated including administrative activities with the best interest of the patient while ensuring policy and procedure are met.Informed patients of care instructions, how to get follow up care and the best way to stay healthy, warning signs and how to seek emergency care.Assist patients with identifying needs and follow up appointments with healthcare providers and services as needed.
