Duties, Accomplishments and Related Skills:

Utilize the law library to retrieve case law using case citations, statutes and regulations. Retrieving these cases was necessary for the trial attorney to prepare briefs to file with the court. I cite check briefs using bluebook and Westlaw making sure citations, statutes and regulations are abbreviated/cited correctly. I check the attorney’s quotes in the briefs to make sure they are cited correctly. Search Pacer for pleadings to email to counsels. Draft subpoenas and cover letters, notice of deposition, entry of appearance, notice of appearance, facts witness vouchers and signature cards, OBD 47 and modification, CI 204, make sure Subject of Protective Order is on confidential documents, type FedEx air bills. Prepare records for ARU by typing codes on folders to separate briefs, motions, and correspondence. Interact with attorneys, paralegal, support staff, persons within the Department. If an attorney has any questions about a brief or motion, and we cannot find the answer in the rule book, I call the court for assistance. Follow-up with Capital Process to make sure documents have been served. Book conference rooms on our website. I am the contact for requesting pickup and delivery of documents and administrative records from the agency counsels for cases. Communicate daily with attorneys on upcoming projects and keep the attorney apprised when the project will be completed.

Insert tables of authorities in Drafting Assistant and generate tables of contents in Microsoft Word. Input daily assignments in CIMS database and SharePoint. After AD/Reviewers assign attorneys to cases updated new case information in CIMS and SharePoint. Read each complaint, input case type/handling update complaint serve and file dates in CIMS. Complete DT searches and keywords searches, research, redact and search Relativity database. Work closely with the 2

ALS Lab so techs could upload exports in Relativity. Fill out discovery intakes for data loads and electronic file process, add users, create workspace and media request for discovery team. Create a tracking log for exports from Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Department of Homeland Security. Along with tracking productions to plaintiffs. Retrieve image and document count once lab tech upload exports in Relativity. Keep all agency counsels confidential hard drive, USB ports, DVD media in a lock cabinet. Fill out the Chain of Custody for all agency counsel’s media. Date stamp all discovery cover letters as new media come in. Meet agencies courier outside pick exports for the discovery team. When discovery attorneys and paralegals get overwhelmed with any project I finish or complete the discovery task. Format discovery privilege logs. Generate privilege log for confidential emails. Redact the privilege emails. Work closely with trainers so new attorneys could be trained in Relativity. Create spreadsheets; gather discovery documents for tracking records, exhibits, appendices, witness notebooks. Bate number documents in adobe. Produce documents to other opposing counsel. Create deposition binders by printing documents off in condense settings. Assist attorney with preparing for deposition out of state by getting supplies for deposition. Make moot binders for team delivery to attorneys. Work closely with witnesses during trial and write letters to give witnesses update on trial status. Run trial director in the courtroom. Travel with attorneys to different states for trials. Communicate with Deputy Clerks of the courts. Education:
