Resume:

To Whom it May Concern,

I would like to express my interest in any and all teaching and Substitute Teaching position(s) listed on your website and related postings with the Warren County School System and any other opportunity for teaching any Science/Health related positions in grades 6-12.

I am respectfully and sincerely requesting an opportunity to commit and dedicate my expertise to your excellent educational system and one of the top-notch school systems in Kentucky. When reviewing the job description, I was thrilled to discover how well my experience aligns with your needs and requirements. I was drawn to apply because, from reading the open Science, Substitute Teacher positions, I feel your core mission and culture suit what I can offer as a professional. As an adept speaker, demonstrator, and illustrator and having taught at the High School and college level (WKU, Draughons ), as well as having tutored students at Vanderbilt and the University of Kentucky I have a well-rounded background in and refined talents in working with young people and Staff, which makes me an ideal fit for your all of your Science and Health Related positions as well as substitute positions.

Additionally, I am a proven expert in dynamic communication and a consistent collaborator on innovative instructional programs. My previous roles have strengthened my abilities in critical thinking and interpersonal relationships, including a focused attention to detail, leadership, and accuracy. I am thrilled at the prospect of bringing my talents to the Warren County Program(s) and other education programs you may have available. Please contact me at your earliest convenience to further discuss how my work history and personality fit the science, substitute, and health related positions available and fit your roles per your description.

Both of my parents were lifelong schoolteachers and they often reminded me that every child has some talents but different talents. They would often remind me that you don’t expect a squirrel to go to the bottom of lake and you don’t expect the fish to go to the top of the tree, i.e. we (ALL STUDENTS) all have different talents, skills, abilities, and proficiencies. The secret to good teaching is to fortify the abilities that a student has and to cultivate talents that a student may be lacking.

I was adopted at age 7 as a "retarded" (this was the title used in the late 50’s) child and know the stigma of being a "slow learner". I have an instinctive empathy and understanding for the student(s) that may be struggling. This is something that either fortunately or unfortunately I have “earned” the right to talk about and I can use to help others that simply can’t be learned from a book or even a classroom. Both of my parents were retired schoolteachers. I know what the job is and know how to get the job done and I will guarantee you that I can/will be a dedicated, action oriented, committed, and tireless teacher that cares for and promotes the wonderful world of discovery in educating young people.

Thank you for your reflection and consideration of my application. Given an opportunity, I will assure you that you made the right decision.

Thanks, Respectfully, Dr. Chris Steward

Both of my parents were lifelong schoolteachers and they often reminded me that every child has some talents, but these talents might be quite diverse. They would often remind me that you can’t expect a squirrel to go to the bottom of lake and you can’t expect the fish to go to the top of the tree, i.e. all students all have different talents, skills, abilities, and proficiencies. The secret to good teaching any age group is to strengthen the abilities that a student has and to help develop talents that a student may be lacking.

You can be guaranteed that I know what the job is and know how to get the job done because of my love for working with children from the schoolhouse to the church house to the hen house (farm, FFA projects). I sincerely ask for that opportunity to put my lifelong experiences to use in your excellent school system. I know how to sincerely listen to both to both students, parents, and staff. I have been a proven, tireless, dedicated, caring supporter of education as many of my education recommendations clearly indicate where I've put my time, money, etc. for years here in Barren County. I will be accessible to parents and students. I have a dynamic and trustworthy style of speaking and presentations and I am not adverse to new ideas that with save time, money and insure for a healthy, and safe learning environment and as a 39-year business owner I am very results oriented. It would be my intent to encourage discovery, leadership, action and make these qualities as easy as possible for the student. I know how to put leadership in action. Having been raised on a military base after I was adopted, I learned long before it was a catch phrase or a topic about issue of diversity and equality. I am also the parent of two (2) 100% disabled sons from Iraq/Afghanistan. They are my only 2 boys, so I've learned from early in life having been in abusive homes until I was 7 y.o. until the present the pressures and real-life struggles of families and how it affects the ability to learn.

Thank you for your reflection and consideration of my application. Given an opportunity, I will assure you that you made the right decision.
