Matthew Garman Cover Letter

My name is Matthew Garman, I am a 2020 graduate of the University of Arkansas Walton College of Business. I have a Bachelor of Science in Finance with an emphasis in Real Estate and a double minor in Insurance and Management. I have recently relocated to Bella Vista, Arkansas after renovating a property that I bought in October of 2022. I am seeking a position as a first time mortgage loan originator to further develop my skills. Out of college I moved back to Tulsa, Oklahoma and accepted a position at Make Your Life Epic marketing firm. I worked under 2007 Small Business Entrepreneur of the year Clay Clark, and Forbes.com contributor and highly regarded search engine optimization expert Jonathan Kelly. In this position I worked in several roles. I was primarily a search engine optimization specialist, and then was promoted internally to manager for one of Clay Clark’s businesses, Elephant In The Room men's grooming lounge. I have also worked in some capacity in many other businesses that they owned such as: Doctor Detail mobile car detailing, Bixby Ice Cream Company, H20 power washing, Garage Solutions epoxy flooring, and ticket sales for ThriveTimeShow business conferences. Most recently I was promoted to Call Center Operations Manager for Elephant In The Room. I successfully filled this role from March 2022 to September of 2023. In this role I directly led a team of 6 employees and handled scheduling for all 47 employees of the business. I oversaw all the booking operations for the business as well as all payroll processing, HR related matters, weekly sales meetings, monthly sales tax payments, customer support, and much more. In this role I also was rewarded for being the top salesman for 17 out of the 19 months I worked in this position. I left that position in good standing as I gave them over two months notice that I would be relocating to Arkansas. I have a successful track record at every position I have held, and former employers hold me in high regard and frequently refer me to businesses looking for candidates who possess a well rounded and proven skill set. I have a thorough understanding of both financial and real estate related concepts as well as a very successful track record in sales, and I possess excellent communication skills. I have job experience leading and managing teams, and have significantly increased the production of every team I have led. While looking for a career change in Arkansas I have been providing my services and knowledge to several companies as an independent marketing consultant, and search engine specialist. I have just recently completed my pre-licensing education for NMLS registry through On-Course learning, and I passed the NMLS exam with an 84% on my first attempt. I am seeking employee sponsorship to obtain my certification, and begin my new career as a mortgage loan originator. This would be my first position in this new career field so I am looking for a company who is willing to help me develop my skills and provide the training necessary to become an industry leading loan originator.
